I am looking for a very small red dot sight form the top of my Benelli M4.

I have seen some that are priced, and look, very cheap. However, I am looking for a sight that will stand up to the recoil of the shotgun; and is the most cost effective.

Any suggestions?

Re: Which (SMALL) Red Dot for Benelli M4

Not sure what your budget is, but when you say "small" and "holds up" I hear "Aimpoint T1".

Re: Which (SMALL) Red Dot for Benelli M4

Something like Burris FastFire II Red-Dot Reflex Sight.

Although, there may be better options. I hope to find something very small and flat.

Re: Which (SMALL) Red Dot for Benelli M4

I have a Fastfire and it works well BUT the dot intensity is not adjustable like an aimpoint and there is a lot of starburst.

Hope this helps,

Re: Which (SMALL) Red Dot for Benelli M4

How about the C-More? Has anyone used them on a shotgun?

Re: Which (SMALL) Red Dot for Benelli M4

The SpeedBead works pretty well, but I'm not sure there is one for the M4. JP also makes a mount for the JP/Docter/Fastfire type sights that you glue to the barrel.

Re: Which (SMALL) Red Dot for Benelli M4

Definitely a fastfire, Burris makes shotgun mounts.

Re: Which (SMALL) Red Dot for Benelli M4

What about the fatsfire star burst? The M4 has a rail on top to mount to, therefore I would not use a glue type mount.

Has anyone used the c-more; it looks good?

Re: Which (SMALL) Red Dot for Benelli M4

I had an extra C-More laying around and threw it on my Benelli M4 for a range trip. It worked pretty well, but I don't trust the durability/ruggedness of a C-more like I would with an Aimpoint.

P.S. Not trying to be a jerk, but you've got 86 posts all on threads that you have started in the past 5 days. I'm hoping these are legit and we don't see you trying to sell stuff by the end of the week. This community prides itself on knowing it's members and doesn't take kindly to people padding their post count in order to start selling things. If that is not your intent, I apologise.

Re: Which (SMALL) Red Dot for Benelli M4

the fastfire is a great lil sight, also look at the Bushnell TRS-25, or the Vortex Sparc, all good sights that are affordable and would work well on yer shotty McShotterson

Re: Which (SMALL) Red Dot for Benelli M4

No apology is needed; I understand your concerns!

These are topics of interest to me and the equipment that I own. I am attempting to find equipment that works well for me, with out wasting time and money, and dispence with items that, although good products, don't fit (or that I don't care for thier function).

With that said, I intend to purchase and sell items in the spirit of this endeavor.

BTW: I will likely ask a large amount of dumb questions!

Aimpoint T-1, or if you want to save a few bucks and won't be using NV on your M4, then an Aimpoint H-1 will suffice.

Re: Which (SMALL) Red Dot for Benelli M4

For a Shotgun I like the Leupold Delta Point. The Aimpoint H1 or T1 work very well also. For the dollar value the Vortex SPARC or the Burris Fast Fire.

Added a video of the Leupold Delta.

Re: Which (SMALL) Red Dot for Benelli M4

can the Leupold Delta Point be co-witnessed with the iron sights?

I'm pretty sure no red dot sight will co-witness with the iron sights on a M4 when mounted on its picatinny rail.

Re: Which (SMALL) Red Dot for Benelli M4

Not a deal breaker, however, it would be nice; in case the battery goes dead.

Re: Which (SMALL) Red Dot for Benelli M4

I would really like to find a reflex red dot that I can use on both the Benelli M4 and the AR M4 (flat top) that will co-witness; that would be ideal.

Re: Which (SMALL) Red Dot for Benelli M4

Well that is not going to happen without taking apart the mounts. The Benelli and AR15 have different sight plains.

Another vote for the SPARC, it comes with two mounting plates. One tall, one low. Worth checking out.

Even using it's lowest mount it will not co-witness with the irons. The only way I can envision a co-witness scenario is if there is a cantilever mount available or a mount that is a direct replacement for the factory picatinny rail and use a mini type red dot(DR O,MRDS,Trij RMR etc) Other wise it is a no go. The best cheek weld scenario/red dot sight I've seen is one of the above mentioned mini's with the collapsible stock set at the middle extension setting. Something to think about.

Re: Which (SMALL) Red Dot for Benelli M4

That is the position that I used on my stock. I see that the reflex sight, on top of the mount, it to high. Thanks for the picture!

I don't think that any of them are low enough to co-witness with the Benelli BIS.

I like that shell holder
