What's the difference? Work wise, what is left to do with just having a stock inlet vs having it fully installed?

Re: DBM- Inlet vs full install

Oh sorry- forgot to mention- HS Precision stock w/aluminum bedding block. Pillars and action bedding need not apply

Re: DBM- Inlet vs full install

I really wish someone would give me an answer on this!!!

Re: DBM- Inlet vs full install

Been quoted two prices- one for inlet on the stock- send in the stock, inlet is done, stock comes back.

Second price is send in the whole rifle, it comes back ready to go.

What is really the difference? Obviously the difference is that the rifle comes back with the bottom metal in the stock and the screws torqued. But aside from that, in terms of additional work... what is the difference? Is there some sort of bedding of the bottom metal that has to be done? Re-profiling of the feed ramp? Just trying to figure out if I'll be alright to go with just the inlet and do the rest myself.

Re: DBM- Inlet vs full install

We only have one price. We ask that the rifle always be sent in so we can make sure it feeds afterwards.

Every Badger, Seekins, and Surgeon we've put in has worked perfectly at pillar depth. Those brands are the ones I highly suggest going with.

Others have required fudging with to get it to feed right. You inlet it to stockline or to Pillar depth like you would a Badger, and you find it has to go a little deeper to work. Thats why some come with additional latches... so you can work on it to get it to feed right.

So thats my guess. One price is to just install the DBM to stock depth or Badger pillar depth, and hope it works. And the higher price is to check feeding and not send it out till it feeds.

We might not accept any brands other than Badger, Seekins, and Surgeon for a while.

Okay gotcha! Thanks!

Re: DBM- Inlet vs full install

I just got my rifle back from CDI Precision in FL. $125.00 for a complete install, I believe he quoted me $60 if I wanted to just send in the stock but contact them if you're interested. I will say this though... Great work, great person to deal with but the turn around time was pretty long.. Other than that.. No complaints.

Yeah I'm waiting on word back from Jeff on what his turn-around time seems to be... Just sent off my barreled actions to Kampfeld Custom for fluting, side stops and bolt knobs. So I either need someone who can take upto a month to inlet the stocks only, or about a week to do a full install. Otherwise this work is going to have to wait a couple months.

Re: DBM- Inlet vs full install

It took about a month to get my rifle back. Sent out on Jan 27th and received it back on March 11th. Figure a week on each end for delivery.. Good person to deal with but make sure you keep in contact with him.
