Are most BDL systems a drop in fit for a B&C M40 stock or are there some modifications that need to be done?
I have a Rem700 SPS AAC-SD I want to drop in a B&C stock and down the line when money becomes availible, go with a DBM mag system.

Re: B&C M40 DBM inlet ?

The only "drop in" that requires minimal fitting is the wyatts dbm system.
They work well enough that Les Baer installs them on his tactical bolt rifle.

The standard by which all others are judged is the AI mag system.
There are several bottom metals that accept them, but hey all require a significant inlet.

For the budget concious, look to CDI, Jeff will inlet for about 60 dollars and his bottom metal is very reasonable and well regarded

Re: B&C M40 DBM inlet ?

I just had CDI DBM installed on my B&M Medalist and it worked out nicely. Factory BDL metal fit fine with no modifying but got tired of the limited capacity. Wyatt's did look nice and was appealing due to it being drop in, but their 10 round mags just seemed a bit large for my taste.

Re: B&C M40 DBM inlet ?

I saw on one of LoneWolf's (www.8541tactical.com) Shot 2012 video's that B&C is coming out with pre DBM inleted stocks this year. Might be a good idea to wait and snag one of those instead of sending one out to get inleted. I'll be buying one Just so I don't have to send it off to get inleted.

Here is a pic of a prototype B@C Light Tactical with the Badger inlet done by B&C. PT&G bottom metal just dropped in for a perfect fit. If you can stand the wait you will be very happy.

That pretty well sums it up. Bottom metal for 129.00 is amazing. AI mags fit like a glove. The quality of this bottom metal is second to none.

Re: B&C M40 DBM inlet ?

i got my ptg bottom metal today! i ordered it friday and got it today. im really impressed its very high quality i just wish some of these smiths would get their head out of their ass and install this system. its hard enough finding someone to do it and only to hear that they only do badger or seekins or whatever it might be. i talked to gap they will do it but its going to be a month turn around but i have no choice. what makes it worse is that they are only 3 hours away

Re: B&C M40 DBM inlet ?

If it is the same footprint as the M5, can't you just send the stock out for the M5 inlett ?

Re: B&C M40 DBM inlet ?

yea i am be they require the trigger guard and altho it does fit they think they will have to do more to it.
