Gentlemen,
You still around the Fargo area? I will be home this summer starting in late May through mid July. Wondering if anyone can show me the ropes of long distance shooting? I will have a 7.62 OBR from LaRue. Most of my shooting experience is based on .223 AR types only out to about 300 yards. Thanks!

jps24, I'm still in Fargo. I shoot every weekend. I've got a buddies farm down by Hankinson with steel plates set up, a place only 25 min from town here where we can shoot long and I also shoot F-class up in Grand Forks. You're more than welcome to come along. Send me a pm.

i know this post is a little old but i live in jamestown nd and do a lot of shooting and would always love to shoot with different people, is there any ranges set up or just personal ranges?

Bismarck has a range out to 1000. I think Rolla's range goes out that long as well. GF is only 600. Most of my shooting is at GF but plan on shooting more steel this year with friends. No official ranges, just private stuff. There's plenty of space to shoot out by Jamestown, I'm sure.

yeah there is places to shoot that we set up steel, hard to find people all the time to go shooting with, met a new guy that loves shooting in jamestown just nice to meet new shooters

Send me a pm if you guys want to get together. I've got 2-3 buddies I shoot with a lot. I've got 2 steel plates and another guy has 2-3 more. We could have plates all over the countryside.

I sometimes go shoot around my grandpa's farm in Napoleon, ND if you all know where that is. It's an hour or two from Jamestown and pretty open. Anyways, let me know if you all get together to shoot as I have a steel target as well!

Forks Rifle Club. Really nice place and dirt cheap. 2 miles south of 32 Ave and 3 miles west. That's pretty damn close.

I will be free probably every weekend June through mid-July. I'm looking to do plenty of shooting this summer as I finally get to enjoy some free time after graduating from West Point. Just let me know when/where you want to shoot, and I will be there!

It is $45 to join. I'm not sure about the indoor stuff as I only shoot on their highpower range, mainly for F-class. F-class league is $35 to shoot 8-10 days. They also have a heated "room" off of their outdoor range that you could shoot all winter that costs an additional amount to pay for heat. They have a 200/300/600 yard highpower range with live pits. There is also a 3 sided enclosure for the other range. That one has 8-10 benches and berms at 100/200/300/400/500/600.
Pretty cheap entertainment if you ask me. I drive 85 miles just to shoot there as I can't stand the ak-47 and SKS crowd at the free range by Fargo.

Ill be looking into the forks gun club.. Im finally moving back to GF again tomorrow after a long year in Afghanistan.

I know this thread is really.... really old, but I thought it was worth a shot. I will FINALLY be back in the Fargo area after more time than I care to think about over seas. I have Chad Dixon currently putting together a new rifle for me, and was wondering what the general consensus was on a good local range to stretch her legs on. From reading everyone seems to like the Forks Rifle Club, but that was a few years ago. Seeing if that is still the current favorite, or if things have changed?
