Specifically for the "Beretta M9 - Why the hate?" Post

This is my commercial run 2012 Beretta M9 broken down to show the specific differences between the modern version and the "lowest bidder" older version most of us used overseas in the Gulf Wars.

I bought this pistol and added the Hogue wrap around grips because that's how I carried mine during support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.

Re: Beretta M9

Personally I love mine. I have had it over 15 years shot about 1 or 2 boxes of shells though it a week and have never had a misfire/jam in all that time or had to replace any parts ( although i think its due to replace the barrel shortly) i traded a POS desert eagle .357 magnum for it straight across and have never regretted getting the berretta or getting rid of that POS Desert eagle.

If you think about it... The M9 has an incredible track record. 30,000+ rounds out of my issued pistol and the weak link was the junk Check-mate magazine with a weak spring. That's good enough for ANYBODY.

I don't blame you for replacing that Desert Eagle lol

Re: Beretta M9

the desert Eagle jammed every magazine no matter what ammo I used. it also would shoot pieces of lead in my face (and yes I cleaned the port, it did it any way) one time it did it so bad it split my shooting goggles and hit my cheek just under my eye. that was the last straw and it was gone.

Re: Beretta M9

Any firearm that puts the shooter in harms way is worthless in my opinion. The DE has always been a gimmick in my eyes. The .22LR will kill a human being just as quick as a .50AE. I see no reason other than the "look what I got!" factor.

i totally agree

Re: Beretta M9

I think there is some hate for the M9 due to its "size for caliber". Its a rather large pistol for being a 9mm. I run into people here in the military that either love it or hate it with few in between.

I am one of the bunch that think its plenty good for what it does, it's reliable, its durable, reasonably accurate right out of the arms room and easy to maintain.

It's not a gun I need or want in my safe, but on the occasion that I have been issued one, it hasn't failed me. The mags...they have failed me every time. An arms room pistol with a quality mag is a fine gun for what its job is. IMHO.

Re: Beretta M9

I like mine. Shot it in the military and wanted one to remind me I was there. It shoots great.

Re: Beretta M9

A friend of mine will never own one because Jet Li took one appart with one hand in some movie, talk about dumb conclusion, If a guy can get that close to you and you still can't pull the trigger before he does that you shouldn't own a gun.
I love my M92 and I am a glock guy.

Re: Beretta M9

No hate, one of the finest 9mm's ever made. I was issued one, and bought one after my service, actually I have bought 3. I love them.
