Gunsmithing What chamber ? 300 Win Mag project

I am getting ready to order up a new 1/10 twist barrel and chamber reamer for the 300 win mag.

I noticed that PTG offer a number of options for a match reamer.

- .300 WM SAMMI (Standard)
- .300 WM A19
- .300 WM US Navy Mk13
- .300 WM Obermeyer Patern
- .300 WM Match

I am planning on shooting 190's to 230's but mainly 208's. They need to fit in a box mag for the DBM.

Anybody have any advice on which reamer patern and why?

I just want to pick the right chamber for the job

I'm in the same boat and was wondering about the Navy chamber and how well MK248 mod 1 would work in other chambers.

PTG TacMatch, I'll see if I can find reamer print #.

Just worked on a couple rifles with this chamber using 208 A-max. Freebore, lead angle is about perfect so round will fit AI mag.

I sized a piece of norma brass in my dies, seated a 208 Amax to my desired length and sent it in to PTG. A few weeks later I received a custom ground reamer and a go gauge for $175. I also did this for my .308 win project - Lapua brass with a 178 Amax seated to AI mag length.

Ordered from PTG today sounds like this is what it will be. It is a version of the Crane Sniper Chamber (US Secret Sercice).
