So Im looking to replace the factory flash hider on my RRA
Lar-8. I am considering a JP Enterprises Bennie Coolie. What are you guys using? And this is my first post so I hope I did all the right stuff.

Re: What compensators are you running on 7.62

You did the right stuff.

Here's the issue. Everyone is going to give you their opinion on how well their ".XXX" feels like a .22 because of their "XXX" brake or compensator.

Basically what this means is 99.99% of the people probably couldn't tell the difference between one vs. the other. There are a couple of exceptions but for the most part this is true.

So when choosing a brake or comp, you're really not going to make a bad decision. Go with aesthetics, go with what you "feel", but you're not going to be too bad off with whichever one you pick.

Words of wisdom ^

I'll post some for you to look at but I sure can't tell you which would work better.

Maybe someone has done side by side testing with actual proof but I haven't seen it.

Here is a video showing what an APA Fat Bastard does for a 338 Lapua

Here is a video with and without the Fat Bastard

It would be cool to see someone take 10 different brakes and put them to this test side by side with the ruler.

Just found this. The "Big CHubby" from Rat Worx

They make it for 30 cal. First time I have seen it though.

Re: What compensators are you running on 7.62

Cant go wrong with any of the above in the photos. Recently seen the majority or the breaks at a long range match and have to say the only one not mentioned above is the surefire break. What I seen that day it did pretty good. Also if GA precision is pretty much mounting them on all there guns along with the badgers they have to good or one would think.

Re: What compensators are you running on 7.62

I run the BABC on my REPR. Feels very close to an A2 flash hider on a 5.56.

Ahhh that looks familiar, didn't look like it belongs on my auto loader but after shooting it who cares it works. Nice to see other types of comps for my future bolt gun. But I was wondering how those external clamp on comps line up with the bore?

^^^^^^WHAT HE SAID^^^^^^ This is so true, and you would be wise to listen. Folks often associate 'heap big voodoo' with brand X vs. brand Y. As far as this guy can tell most of the brakes out there are pretty effective. As for me, I have Surefire brakes 'cause I keep fantasizing about one of their supressors... but that's a whole other debate... err argument... err topic (yep that's it).

BTW, my Surefire brakes work quite well.
