Rear Bag Poll

Re: Rear Bag Poll

I didn't realize the Tiger Valley bag was so popular or I would have put it as an option. I'm behind the times...

Mine says Triad, I think it's made by Red Tac. I really like it. Bought it here used. I also have a Rec Tac 1/2 pint that I keep in a pocket when I'm in a hurry or hunting light.

Re: Rear Bag Poll

I have tried a number of different rear bags, but have settled on the TAB bag. I like its low profile, as I tend to shoot from a low bipod position.

I like the strap and place it around the back of my hand. For some reason I can control the TAB bag better than others I've used, and thus I am more consistent with my rifle's elevation on target.

Re: Rear Bag Poll

Str8 Laced shooters bag gets it done for me.

Re: Rear Bag Poll

Sock filled with poly beads. Lightweight, doesn't absorb moisture and become a rice or bean mess, easy to make, and cheap. I can't believe so many are actually buying something as easy to make as a little "bean"bag.

I can't speak for everyone else who bought a bag but if I filled a sock with bb's I would snag holes in it and be left with just a sock. I'm not always on a bench or a groomed range. I don't always have a shooting mat with me and have set up in some rough shit a few times. Briars, thorns and sticks would play hell on a sock bean bag in some of the places I have had to set up in to hunt. If that happened once I would be pissed I spent 3 dollars instead of 20. I guess I could double sock it but I'd rather just buy a bag for $20 and not worry about it.

The materials TAB, Red Tac and many others use is worth the $20 to me. I'll probably never have to buy another one. If a $20 bag has you in disbelief I can't imagine what you must think about some of the custom guns, high end scopes, night vision, bipods or rangefinders on this site. To each their own I guess.

Re: Rear Bag Poll

Alright, now one of you post a link to Str8 Laced, if there is one so we can see these things cause I looked and found stuff that had nothing to do with shooting.

Re: Rear Bag Poll

I dont know where the link is but I have one of those Str8 Laced large bags. I dont use it for a rear bag but rather from a front rest when shooting off awkward barricades or locations. It is very well made and SUPER light.

Re: Rear Bag Poll

redirt78, I posted some pictures of the bag above. I thought I had some cards left to see if they had a web site or at least post their info but I must have handed them all out.

+1 thats my bag! Very versatile, light weight, and adaptable in size.

Also, she shoots pretty damn good. Even though she shoots a pink gun.

Her husband? Well he is ok, I guess......

Thanks Pimp.

If I ever feel like I need a larger rear bag I might check them out. So far the 1/2 pint and the regular Red Tac have been fine for what I do.

Ty </div></div>Thanks TY and the rest of you guys that like our rear bags and continue to support us through using the gear we make and telling others about it.

And who knows maybe one day I can improve my shooting a little

Re: Rear Bag Poll

Got my TAB bags and love them. Used them last night for the first time. It's very easy to squeeze the bag and get on target fast. I highly recommend.

Re: Rear Bag Poll

I've got a Triad Wedgie and I think it's just about perfect for use with my monopod. I added a strap running down its length (for hanging it off bipod legs) and continued it across the front. I think the strap it comes with goes the wrong way, now I can use it either way.

Re: Rear Bag Poll

Flame me,

I have all 3 from Midway, Flat, Wedge and Large and I got them on sale for $40. I also have one that was made by a fellow member here but I forget who, cost me $30. The Midway bags are very soft and mushy while the "other" bag is much more stiff and full to the point where you almost can't manipulate it much, fabric is also tougher. To be honest its nice having the variation between the two.

Sorry for the delay in response. I hadn't received my order, so I called Monday. He told me that he had been hit with the merchants version of the perfect storm, an influx of orders and delays from suppliers. He appreciated my understanding and vowed that I'd have the product by this weekend. Sure enough, my package came via USPS today. It measured: 12"x9"x4". I went with the deluxe model (no slip grip on the bottom and Velcro on top). I can't wait to get to the range next week.

Cool, thanks for remembering. That is a big bag for sure! Bet it's rock solid.

Re: Rear Bag Poll

I voted other. I have and like aTriad bag. Since I have installed a monopod I just don't use a bag very often.

Re: Rear Bag Poll

I've been using a homemade bag for a while now. it was a plastic bag filled with corncob media and then put into a sock.

But I just got a TAB rear bag that I like so far and I'll be using from now on. But i'm keeping my homemade one as a back up.

Re: Rear Bag Poll

I have a Red Tac Gear tactical pillow and it's perfect. I also have 2 Badger bones but, I find them to be too small.

Re: Rear Bag Poll

Home made is just too easy to pass up. Couple of socks. Duck tape. Shoe goo. Doll/plant vase fill. 550 paracord. Scissors.

Re: Rear Bag Poll

Different bags for different applications....

Red Tac Gear Pillow for prone matches and 3gungear squishy when weight matters.

Re: Rear Bag Poll

Mine is home maid but modeled after Tab with an addition of a clip on one corner

Re: Rear Bag Poll

i have the red tac one i got at triad cylinder looking one small so it fits right in my pack with out a lot of weight, works great.
