300. Winnie

Having a 300. Winnie being built and I'm stuck on 2 things. First is barrel length and contour. I can't decide between 26" barrel with #4 or 28" barrel and #5. Suggestions please!

Other thing I'm stuck on is load development and custom throat. My smith said in order for a custom throat I need a dummy round. I want to shoot 210. VLD's. Any suggeations

What are you doing with the rifle? Hunting? Tactical? Benchrest? F-class? Did I miss any?
