What other bolt guns do this?

A lot of bolt guns shoot well but most are ammo sensitive either to bullet type and weight or powder charge. I was reading the Accuracy International AX308 test in Sniper magazine. That got me thinking what other guns accross the board shoot sub .687 groups with eight different factory loads? Some were not match rounds either. It looks like you could feed this rifle anything and it would be well under sub MOA.

That's actually pretty good ammo they were shooting

I wish I knew the answer of HOW, but I don't.

My Sako TRG42 338 shoots lights out with EVERYTHING I've tried, regardless of bullet, powder or charge weight.

I really like it - makes me wanna get a TRG22.

Great components and engineering, make for a very forgiving rifle.

Same here on the TRG22!!! I have a extra 7mm barrel sitting in the safe screaming use me...use me.

Re: What other bolt guns do this?

I have a feeling many could given that ammo. I would like to see the same test with a stock Savage and R700 - I bet they are under 3/4 MOA.

Good luck

Re: What other bolt guns do this?

With the ammo listed Steyr SSG PII and Sauer SSG3000/200STR will have the same performance.

If good quality 7.62NATO ammo is added to the ammo list the Steyr would probably win due to barrel features.

Re: What other bolt guns do this?

I guess what impressed me was that over 8 types of factory ammo there was only a .183 difference in groups between them, nothing real tight but solid. Granted I have not seen a test where so many different types were used.

You hear about guys all the time saying my rifle does not like XXXX brand or XXXX bullets. My personal rifles are the same way you can drill 175s into very nice groups but put a barrier round like the ones above and it opens up. I have seen lots of rifle test and it seems like are really biased to one type of ammo.

I wouldn't mind similar performance for about 4k less.
