EFFIN A 762

Re: EFFIN A 762

resides advant's possible future purchase of the new versions, looks like a scaled up griffin armament tactical compensator to me

Re: EFFIN A 762

If the post here is to open this up for opinions I would say that rarely do I see a design so inherently flawed. Decades of designs and this one uses nothing of what has been learned.

Not a compensator unless the vast majority of holes are shut off ( the missing idea here is timing a constant number of directed ports tuned by caliber), not a brake, possibly a flash hider (but then why would one close off any of the holes?) this is an Effin mess.

From their website...

"The exit ports are not threaded completely through to eliminate the possibility of the screw being over turned into the chamber"

"This Compensator also features the ability to "Stack" multiple comps end to end giving further options to the end user."

In other words "if our holes are too damn small or we don't have enough of them, buy more small holes and if you end up having too many...plug the additionals up"

And this...a coffee out the nose reading...

"Objects at rest tend to stay at rest and objects in motion tend to stay in motion unless acted upon by an outside force. Muzzle flip is caused by the pressure that is released down the center of the bore in relation to the contact points of the weapon and the shooter. Muzzle climb is solved by this device in two ways; The EFFIN-A Compensator's timed and tunable exit ports act as an outside force that returns the weapon to a "position of rest" after the round has been fired (the round acts as the initial force causing the unwanted motion) by directly countering the force in relation to the standard shooter contact points on the weapon. This Compensator is also designed to directly increase the weapons moment of inertia by accurately counter balancing the mass of the front of the weapon in relation to the force of motion created by the original force. The balance concept is similar to ancient weight ratio techniques used in spears to allow steady aim and flight."

A classic...Sir, if your "returning" anything...it has moved...if it has moved, you have failed. Great compensators reduce the movement to as little as possible...NOT return it AFTER it has moved. As to the spear...errrr crazy talk, as in zero application.

And this one, good enough to be posted on the Board of Hilarity....

Due to the amount of time and money we spent on researching the amount of pressure released during the act of firing a round and adjusting the Compensator's balance to correspond to it we will not be releasing the exact weight until after the pre-order is finished and products have already shipped. Note: testing was conducting with two types of ammunition, Matchgrade and GreenTips. The general weight is between 4 and 5 ounces."

Taming the .223....Effin unbelievable...

Re: EFFIN A 762

I've read a lot of positive reviews (and some negative) of the 556 comp. some people like being able to tune it to their rifle/style, it just seems a bit too gimmicky for me.
