Hi All,
I've assembled my first rifle (not necessarly a build but an assembly)
Larue 20" complete upper and BG, 1/8 twist Lothar Walther barrel, pretty sure going to shoot 77gr Black Hills ammo, (haven't tested all of them so far.) lower has a Jard 1.5lb trigger. Fits together like a bank vault. Bench gun/varmint eradicator. Cheaper practice while I learn .308.
What reccommendations can I get for this set up optic wise? Confident I can hit 600m consistently, 800m most of the time and have a goal of 1000m consistently.
Was thinking of a Leupold Mark 4 4.5-14x40mm LR/T Target, but that is just to give you an idea what I'm looking at.
Search is chock full of examples of putting scopes on AR's, but not the why they chose why they made the choice. Likely because of money or lack of it. Just want to spend the right amount on the right scope. For example can I buy too much scope? (I still think I'm too stupid to get the answers I want by using search) but how about a little help here for someone who spent 6 years qualifing on irons.
I am hoping I can get help with magnification and objective lens diameter. You can recommend a scope if you so desire, but I'm looking at what stats I should go for in a scope within these perimeters for the shooting I want to do.r/b]
