Re: are these worth anything?

i do not know the condition of any of the guns. this came up at the end of a tree removal job i was doing when he asked if i would be interested.

Re: are these worth anything?

I'll take a stab at the ones I know a little about.

The Norinco SKS is probably in the $250-300 range, depending on condition.

The Enfield #4 Mk.I is around $250. Again, matching numbers and condition would +/- that figure. Manufacturer could, as well.

The Type 38 Arisakas are probably in the $250-300 range, as well. However, the market fluctuates widely on Arisakas, as of late. I've seen a lot of people paying more than I would, or most other collectors in the know.

These are all blind, ballpark figures, of course.

This guy said exactly what i was going to.

Re: are these worth anything?

Nothing really but if the ruger pistol is cheap, pick it up. Theres a strong following for them.

Re: are these worth anything?

I thought Model 12's were desirable, and somewhat valuable?

Re: are these worth anything?

The Win. Model 12 could be worth a bunch. The model 62 is up and coming as a 'Winchester collectable' as well. Rough guess on the model 12 is $500. There is a LOT of latitude in that guess though. Condition and wood grade are very important. Pics would give a better guess.

The model 62's are selling for $250-$500 depending on condition and grade (what they have on them)

The SKS and the Enfield would both have a value of around $250 unless the Enfield has, as noted above some rarities. That can make them jump through the roof for price. Both are going up in value.

The Universal M1 Carbine is normally around $300 but they have been climbing steadily as well in price. Based on projected election results, they too will climb a lot higher.

The Ruger semi-auto, $200-$250

The Higgins .22 and the Crossman, are both well under $100.

The two Arisaka's without the mums are not collectable...per se. They can still be a complete and good example of the rifle. But the 'no mum' means they lose about 80% of their value. $150 each. $250 if totally complete. $300 if in very good condition.

Re: are these worth anything?

hopefully next week i can find time to take a look at them.

it was at the end of a very long day when he asked if i wanted to see them.

he gave no indication of condition. he just said that they were his dads and he didn't want them.

$20-$50 depends if seals are still good. they get bad and leak, thuse you go through CO2
cylinders very fast
Prices can very by where you live in the US

Re: are these worth anything?

Early Rugers are getting collectible. That's a REALLY early one. Definitely worth something to the right collector.

A few years ago, those Arisaka's would have been worth $30. That they are where they are is a testament to how much they have increased. I got one free in a 'group' trade a couple of years ago (and gave it away), but Arisaka's aren't throwaways any more.

Cheers,

Sirhr

Re: are these worth anything?

Depends on what you mean by "anything". Winchester Model 12s are quite collectable. The 62A and Ruger pistol might be worth looking into as well. Personally, I really like the Type 38s but with no mums the appeal to a collector is greatly diminshed.

i guess i was looking for "wholy shit, you better get that!"

case in point, a buddy of mine has a WW2 1911, still in the original box, still in the wax paper type paper, never fired. now that has to be worth something.

Re: are these worth anything?

i am not a collector, but like i said, if there was something that really stood out to those of you that know more than i do, then i would look into it more.

Re: are these worth anything?

ok, next week. i am leaving tomorrow morning for the first day of fishing, or as i call it, drinking. i will take some pics and give my opinion of condition.

Re: are these worth anything?

sounds good, send a PM when you find out condition and a price

Just a fun little rifle too.

Seem to see them at flea markets and in the gun libraries at Cabela's a lot anymore.

I learned to shoot on a couple. They were work horses at the farm, but the one is in great shape. Again, a lot of fun!

i am not personally trying to sell them for money.

a client of mine asked if i was interested, so i posted them here to see if anything stood out.

two others on this site have inquired about some of the guns.

sure i will look into it for you.
