I cannot find, on line, the external dimensions for an NF NXS 5.5x22x50 or x56 scope. If anyone knows where to find it, please post a link, or if you could get me the following dimensions off of your scope, I would appreciate it:

Outside objective diameter
Rear ocular diameter
Zoom ring diameter

I am assuming, based on what someone told me from SH, that the 50mm diameter is of the glass itself, and that the outer diameter is larger, etc.

Thanks

Chris

do you have the dimensions for the 56mm as well??

I took some measurements of my gun and existing scope and am figuring out the details for the mount.

Tnx

Re: Nightforce NXS scope- dimensions

65.25 for the 56mm, 42.98 for the ocular

About the zoom ring. Here is what they have have on the NF site. It is my guess, even though I have the 5.5-22x56 NXS model and I should know this, that there is no zoom ring on the larger scopes like there is on the smaller ones.

12. Is the whole eye piece on the NXS supposed to rotate?
For our NXS 3.5-15x, 5.5-22x, 8-32x, and 12-42x the answer is YES. When the diopter adjustment is locked in place by the lock-ring after you have focused the reticle for your vision correction, the power zoom ring and the eyepiece will move as one unit.

This is a design feature to make for a stronger and more water resistant eyepiece. By having the entire eyepiece move for magnification adjustment, it is much easier to change the adjustment while under stress or in cold and/or wet conditions.

For our NXS 1-4x and 2.5-10x the answer is NO. Due to the compact design of these models, these riflescopes feature a power zoom ring independent of eye piece.

Thanks for the info especially about the zoom ring. From photos, it seemed like there was one, and it was larger than the ocular diameter, and since I already had a problem with the rear of the current scope I use hitting the rail, I wanted to account for this.

Re: Nightforce NXS scope- dimensions

^^No problem buddy. I think what you were looking at is just the grip texture to turn the lens itself.

Never say never, there is always something to try.
