Anyone have one? I saw one today and was thinking of picking one up, what do you think? Any issues with reliability?

Re: Sig Tacops opinions

Because it's a sig, I'm assuming you're talking about the P226? Sweet gun, but I'd get some hands on experience before you buy one. I have seen people complaining about the quality control of sigs in the past few years. But, every gun has haters. Like I said, if you have a buddy or know someone who already has one, offer to buy them some ammo in exchange for some trigger time. What type of handguns do you already own/have experience with?

Re: Sig Tacops opinions

Love mine. No issues at all, no FTF's or FTE's in going on close to 1000 rounds. It is a bit heavy with the 20 round magazine if you aren't "ready" for it. I carry mine as my duty weapon with an Insight M6 light/laser combo. Great gun, IMHO...

Re: Sig Tacops opinions

I as well really like my sig p226 tacops chambered in 9mm.
A+ overall!the trigger outta the box is excellent, especially with the addition of the SRT.
Great balance, really like the truglo TFO front sight, makes it really easy to acquire targets fast.
Buy ony!you won't regret it!

Re: Sig Tacops opinions

They also make a TacOps 1911. Great gun for the money. I have the Sig 1911 Tacops Carry TB for a suppressor host. Just wish the Osprey would get here. I only have about 100 rds through but they make a nice 1911 with a lot of features for the price. I would recommend a Sig 1911 to anyone.

Re: Sig Tacops opinions

I bought one and sold it a day later for almost $300 hundred more than I paid. It's basically a 226 with some extra coating from what I understand. I had ordered it up but while I was waiting I found a used German one with aluminum grips with less than a box through it for $700. Too good of a deal to pass up.

Everyone seems to want one right now as it's new and has the QR type code and anchor on it, and is supposedly the same gun as Special Forces use (means nothing to me) other than that, as I said, it's just a 226 with some coating.

You are thinking of the MK25 Navy model, not the Tac OPs.

The Tac Ops has the magwell grips w/20rd mags and fiber optic tritium front sight. The mags it ships with these days are absolute shit though, and you'd end up having to replace them all with MecGar mags anyway which will run you at least $130, so kind of defeats the purpose of even buying the Tac Ops to me.

Like you implied though, Sig is one of the masters of changining one or two minor details on their handguns and calling it a new model and charging a few hundred dollars more for it.

Re: Sig Tacops opinions

I have the Fullsize Scorpion, same as TacOps only different finish. I've had very little troubles at all with function after well over 1000 rounds. Only malfunctions were a few failures to feed with Winchester Ranger SXT hollow points. After polishing feed ramp, no more failures to feed. My only real complaint with the Scorpion is the finish. The cerakote is thin and chips easily. Therefore, I would recommend the TacOps.
I have had a Kimber Pro Carry II and a Para Ordnance 14-45 LDA in the past and prefer the SIG as well. It feels smoother and is more accurate for me.
