Re: 500 s&w Madness!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm waiting for my papers to clear on a Form1 50c suppressor for this exact project!

My dad's is already rockin' with 700gr cast lead, in "Polite Mode". Even at subsonic speeds it still kicks pretty good. I was surprised.

Re: 500 s&w Madness!!!!!!!!!!!!

Impressive to say the least! You need to T&E it on a wild pig, and get footage of what it does to a 300 pound boar.

Just waiting on someone with wild pigs to give me an invite...

Re: 500 s&w Madness!!!!!!!!!!!!

Get the Quiet Match set up, and come down early. I'm not guaranteeing anything. Sometimes the pigs don't always cooperate.

Re: 500 s&w Madness!!!!!!!!!!!!

I got to spend some time with a set up like that this weekend. It is a very impressive set up and puts a lot of energy down range!

I really like how compact it is, looks like it can easily break down and stuff into a back pack for trips into the deep woods. Recoil wasn’t bad at all, very cool video 762!

Re: 500 s&w Madness!!!!!!!!!!!!

762 always fun down at your place!

Integral? Does the barrel tap gas? If not.. its a "dedicated" can, not an "integral". By definition an integral taps SS cartridge gas down to a prescribed subsonic velocity.

Tomato Tom a toe... But I see what you are saying.

Yeah, Byron(Delta P Designs) let us shoot this. It was awesome, until I dropped it on the ground when I was reloading...........I threw up in my mouth a little. Byron just thought it was funny, and then said "Don't worry, I don't own any safe queens".

I'm still thinking about it and I cry a little every once in awhile.......

700gr hardcast subsonics go in one side and come out the other.

Pig folds up.

End of story...

Deer are similar.

Sucks I missed the look on your face. Byron said it was priceless!

Deer are thin skinned game. Wild pigs are a lot tougher. Skinning one can be fun. While I have little doubt of it passing through, I would like to see what this thing would do.

Couldn't agree with you more...I am frantically searching for ome piggies to kill with this thing...

Re: 500 s&w Madness!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have my .50 Beowulf set up with my AWC Thundertrap TI 50 CAN now and will get to shoot it this weekend. I have only shot it so far on my spook built .510 Whisper. Works great and I too want to shoot some pigs with them. Great video thanks PG

True. But with deer, you can shoot end to end on them

And that was with the 440gr cast, not even the 700's when it went from LF Shoulder to RR hock and crashed through the woods.

Not sure what this set up will do to a deer, but this is the aftermath of a neck shot on a little mulie up in Montana with a BMG

Re: 500 s&w Madness!!!!!!!!!!!!

yogi will never hear it coming!

Re: 500 s&w Madness!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi i have to ask what is the fouling like in the can with the cast projectiles i bet the lube and lead will build up can the can be taken apart to be cleaned?

If not do you have anyone that can make you heavy jacketed projectiles?
I know Woodleigh here would and also Bertrum bullet company could aswell.

I know of a 45-70 on a H&R years ago with wipes in the can and spirals would lanch 500gr Hornady projectiles sub sonic and you could only hear the firing pin drop and then a massive smash when it hit slow moving heavy projectiles realy hit hard those 700gr projectiles would hammer almost everything on earth.
Good luck with your project can you do that to a marlin lever gun?

Re: 500 s&w Madness!!!!!!!!!!!!

This rifle is badass. I am playing with one of them right now, they are pretty damn cool in my opinion. Can't wait till mine gets here. Promisedland Guns and Copper Creek know what is COOL!
