I just got a email from SureFire that they are now selling 123A batteries, they kit with 2 and the charger is $30 and 2 extra batteries run $12. This is pretty good news to me since a lot of stuff shooters use runs off of the 123A battery.

Re: Rechargeable 123A batteries

No it is about 50% but supposedly they are good for something like 2,000 charging cycles.

Any recommendations?

Re: Rechargeable 123A batteries

Over on CandlePowerForums, the flashlight gurus all swear by AW brand RCR123a's charged with a Pila charger.

Rechargable lithium batteries are a different animal and one of the safest and most recommended chargers is the Pila.

I run the AW's with a Pila charger and have had zero problems. These are all I feed my HDS clicky flashlights.

I am using 6 of these batteries in my rotation for 3 lights. Working out very well and have saved me ?$'s vs buying single use batteries.

Re: Rechargeable 123A batteries

If you're running doubles - and can find the right fit. Run an 18650 rechargeables.....

4 Sevens, AW, Trustfire 2400 true,

Chargers - Lacrosse Tech BC900, Pila IBC, Maha MT-C9000..........or the cheap WF-139.

Re: Rechargeable 123A batteries

IMHO is better to find single battery charger because then u are sure that your battery will get fully charged.

I am afraid that if u use a double batt charger then as soon as one of the battery is full then it will light green light, so the second battery won't be fully charged.

On ebay you can find tons for low cost and to be honest i am almost certain that the batteries are made almost 1 or 2 places in the Asia and its only other companies put their logos on it...

Its kinda like the memory sticks that its produced one place in Asia and different companies put their logos on it and sell it for more.

Btw does anybody uses the 18650 batteries ? because its kinda 2x cr123 but its just 1 big size..

Do they have a better output or does 2x cr123 have a better output ?`

I wanted to buy the 18650 batt because its only 1 big instead of 2x small cr123.

Hope to hear some advice.

Re: Rechargeable 123A batteries

18650's you need to check diameters with certain brands , both of the batts and that of the tube/flashlight. Some will not fit......

The AW are the best bet, I do use Ultrafires 3000mah.....

Nice to have rechargeables rather than poppin 123's like Pez candy

Re: Rechargeable 123A batteries

Crap... Just got 2x 18650's and they won't fit into my SF or Insight..

They will only fit into one of my china made light.
