About 2 months ago, after waiting 10 months for a builder to build me an AR, I decided to get my money back (still working on that) and have someone else build me an AR. The new builder suggested that he would help me build my own so I decided to take on the task.

I have shot off the shelf AR’s and although most are really nice I really liked the custom one that my other friend had built. So this is what lead to the build you see here.

This is my first AR I have ever owned (already planning 4 other builds), and the first that I have ever built. I would say that I learned a lot along the way, and it was a great experience.

The cost of this AR was right in line with buying one of the shelf and modifying it, so in short I didn’t save much money, but I got exactly what I wanted. Now the nuts and bolts:

Mega Machine 3-H billet set (CH included)
WOA Lower Parts Kit
Magpul UBR
Geissele SSA-E Trigger
Mega Upper Parts Kit
WOA 223 16” Match Rifle Barrel (headspaced to Bolt)
WOA BCG
WOA Carbine Buffer
WOA Carbine Buffer Spring
WOA Mid Length gas tube
RRA Advanced Half Quad Aluminum, Mid Length
JP Stainless Adjustable Gas Block
Smith Vortex Flash Hider

Notes: I would probably buy the upper parts needed from Rainer Arms Next time.

The total time to get the rifle built was 8 weeks, but I had to let it sit for a week before I had a chance to shoot it. I finally got it out this afternoon with my Vortex PST 6-24x50 scope and got to shoot it. Offhand I grouped 4” at 100 yards (I couldn’t stop shaking today). I hope to get it back out on Sunday (not forget my sled) and get a good grouping on it. I will update post with target pictures (hopefully Sunday)

HAPPY EASTER!

Re: My First AR!

100 yds offhand at 6x is no small feat. I'd probably miss paper entirely. I much prefer irons for offhand. Looks very nice. How's your UBR cheek weld and scope height working out? I always find I have to add some padding to that stock to get my eyes high enough and prefer the PRS instead.

Re: My First AR!

The UBR and mount height worked ok, in the end I will be mounting an Eotech XPS2-0. I just wanted to use the scope to group it....But forgot the sled to set it in.

Re: My First AR!

Finally after another week got to shoot it. Here is a 10 round group at 100 yards, I had a bipod on the front and shot from the shoulder. All I can say is that I am happy. Mounted the EOTECH when I got home. Now if the sling will come in I will be super happy.

Good job there!

Looks like you built yourself a fine, accurate boomstick...

It looks beautiful from this end!

Re: My First AR! (Group Added)

I just wanted to add a little plug, and special thanks to BB Enterprises, and White Oak Armament.

White Oak builds great parts and they meet the delivery times they advertise, they also do a great job with communication.

BB Enterprises is great to do business with I order some of the other part though him including the mega upper and lower. He was very friendly and is fantastic with communication.

They both preformed as they said (doing what they said) with no interaction from me. They will both be getting more business from me.

Thanks alot to the local guys that helped me out.

Re: My First AR! (Group Added)

That's a great build and great shooting, well done! I am also a WOA fan. They make great products and are easy to deal with.

Re: My First AR! (Group Added)

Looks good, shoots good too (no doubt with a little help from yourself

)! Congrats!

Just out of interest, what help did the builder provide?

Were there any issues that needed professional attention during the build, or was he just there to advise and check your work was done correctly?

Re: My First AR! (Group Added)

He provided just a little help like how to put the extractor pin in, also i had a weird binding issue that I couldn't figure out so he had to help me, turns out i put the FFT on to far, i didn't know that was possiable but that caused the lower and upper to pin together really hard. Really it was nice to have someone to call / to ask question, he really didn't look over it much when i was done.

Re: My First AR! (Group Added)

How are you liking that UBR? Once i put one of those on my builds, i have never looked back!

I really like the UBR, this gun is set up for run and gun type of activities. My long range AR-10 that i am building now I am going to put a PRS on it, but I plan on shooting that prone most of the time.

Thats what i use all of my ARs for as well. Theres something awesome about having a rock solid stock at any length setting. the thing never even rattles! again, congrats on the build

You should be BANNED! Copy and paste this same shit in 15 different post in less than 5 minutes. You're obviously not even reading all these post and just trolling to make 100.
