I'm new to the forum, but i'm trying to decide on what new rifle i want. I have been looking at the Sendero SF2 or the XCR tactical long range (in the 300WM). I am still open to other guns around that price range but this is what i have my eyes set on so far. i'm trying to keep the rifle price around those categories. But i'm planning on ordering one asap. I already picked up a 6-24 Viper PST. And i want to get this project rolling. So speak up guys and give me info. Guns for sale? Pro's and Cons to either of these rifles? i'm going to be occasionally for deer and elk hunts (mosly archery/muzzy hunter) also would like to take to the range and sling lead out to 1000yds. Also what work should i get done to it first? Any info is appreciated, i'll try to respond frequently. thanks

Re: Sendero SF2 or XCR TAC?

No, I'm actually starting to think really hard about the 7mm

Re: Sendero SF2 or XCR TAC?

After hashing around the idea, id be really interested in getting a sendero or equivalent in the7mm remington mag, I know I missed out on one the other day here on the hide. But I'm ready to get something now

Re: Sendero SF2 or XCR TAC?

I've got a sendero sf2 in .264 win mag and have been pretty impressed with it. It is still pretty stock from the factory, the only thing I've added is a timney trigger and it shoots very well. I've killed several hogs at over 350 yards and didn't feel like the rifle was even stretching its legs at all.

I'm wanting to do either a 7 mag or .300 wm too, and I keep lookin at another sendero as a place to start. Hard to go wrong with that one in my opinion.

Agreed. I have heard nothing but good things about the 5r.

Re: Sendero SF2 or XCR TAC?

all i'm seeing in the 5R is .308? i'm assuming thats the only caliber that it comes in? really leaning towards a 300 WM or the 7MM rem. then i'll build me a second setup in .308 in a year or so. thats my plan anyways

Re: Sendero SF2 or XCR TAC?

I had a guy hit me up on buying a 300 RUM. What do you guys think (about) $ per round it would cost for a good game reload in the 300 RUM vs 300 wm, or 7mm. I haven't gotten into reloading yet but am planning on it asap

Re: Sendero SF2 or XCR TAC?

The XCR LR in 300WM works for me. Its become my elk rifle and have complete confidence in that rifle and that caliber. I am learning its very very good caliber for long range and would almost replace my 338LM with it if Lapua made brass for it again.

Re: Sendero SF2 or XCR TAC?

How do you like that adjustable trigger? does i adjust down below three pounds? <div class="ubbcode-block"><div class="ubbcode-header">Originally Posted By: Guns4570</div><div class="ubbcode-body">The XCR LR in 300WM works for me. Re: Sendero SF2 or XCR TAC?

I have an SFII in my safe in 7mmRM and I absolutely love it! I am saving up for another US Optics for her.. Damn sport is expensive ;-)

I love the 7mm and it does everything I need it to do. I am a huge fan of the 7mm.

Re: Sendero SF2 or XCR TAC?

I recently got a Sendero SFII in 7 mag, working good so far. My gun doesn't like Hornady 139/162 SST's though, seems to prefer Sierra 168 MK's so far.
