Hoping to get a few opinions from you guys. I have a 300 Winnie I built last year - 700 action blue printed by Long Rifles Inc - PT&G 1-Piece bolt, sendero contour 25" Krieger and a rapid brake. It is sitting in a bedded Manners MCS-T currently and weighs about 11.25 lbs with glass and a AI mag.

I hunt with it probably 15 days a year, the rest of the time it is used for long range fun. The MCS-T is a nice stock, light, etc. but I'm so used to the vertical grip stocks like the MCS-T4 that I went ahead and ordered a Manners T2. Now I cant decide if its worth the extra 1.2 lbs for the adjustable cheek or not. With the adjustable cheek it will add maybe 1.5# to the weight of the rifle.

Anyone else out there running a MCS T2 or T2A on a hunting / fun rifle? ANy suggestions or recommendations?

Re: Win Mag Hunter - Which Stock?

IMO: I wouldn't want adjustable and the weight. But then I would have kept the mcs-t. I don't like vertical grips for hunting, as I dont find them as comfortable to carry. It depends how you hunt, though. If you are driving a quad to a blind and sitting, it doesn't matter much, go for the most comfortable to shoot. Or, if you are setting it up for hunting only as a secondary function, then go for what you like to shoot and figure it will work fine for hunting.
