Ballistic fte wind direction

Hey guys

Just purchased ballistic fte for th iPhone. I know I'm not the first person to notice that the wind direction is backwards. Does anyone know if there is an update in the making to fix this?? I like the program but the backwards wind direction is a not a plus..

I sent an email but haven't heard anything back yet.

u have it set yo Oclock or degrees?

I've done it both ways...but currently I have it set to oclock..

I e-mailed the developer going on about a year ago about this issue and I never heard back. I wish FTE allowed the user to set the sign convention for the wind direction but so far it hasn't happened.

Well, even after the updates the wind direction is still "backwards"

I emailed again, and he stated his program matches jbm ballistics... I thought no way... But sure enough the wind direction and definitions of wind angle on jbm are the same as ballistic fte.. Sooooo...

I guess it's just something to keep in mind....

How do u change from degrees to oclock?

You can change this under iPhone->Settings->Ballistic FTE->Angle Dial Format->"O'Clock"

I find myself using shooter more than ballistic fte when it comes down to it...

I'm in the same situation; e-mail sent a year or two ago and never received a reply.

One thing FTE is good for is comparing several rounds in more than one caliber. It also compares three parameters (drop, velocity, energy), while Shooter compares only two...

Other than that - Shooter and Bullet Flight have the market cornered for me.

.. Actually I've gotten several replies this past week to my surprise... The issue is that most of us call wind from where it originates. JBM ballistic engine uses degrees to designate which way the wind is flowing to.

And he stands by his position that his program matches up directly with jbm, which is true. However, it does not match up with how most of us call wind and identify its direction...

This is the only thing I don't really like, however if you don't use spin drift its not a problem. Or just use bullet flight or shooter which is what I do any way.. Shooter just seems easier to use for me and I like being able to have one weapon and have a choice of different loads for each weapon system.
