I have a spare 40X stock made of wood for a single shot. It came on a '67 vintage 222 Rem mag I got a few years ago and replaced the wood with an HS 40X stock. Anyway been tumbling around the idea of a wooden tactical stock and this one doesn't have much going on. I don't figure its worth much but it might make a neat project. I thought about CDI as I have a couple of them but then I am kind of partial to the badger. Plans are to build a wooden PSS of sorts and instead of a BDL go with DBM as either way some machining would need to be done.

I have a list of smiths that can do it, just wanna know would you do it? I know McM, Manners, HS are all superior but thats not really the point here. Anyone have something like this? would be kinda a tactical woody

You know what opinions are like...

If you aren't borrowing the money to get it done who gives a shit? Walnut and steel may not be the latest and greatest, but little else compares to the way they feel in your hand. Go for it, and screw anyone else that may not like it.
