I bought some cheap 62 gr projectiles from MidwayUSA. The bullet is 90% jacketed, but the very rear/flat of the projectile is not jacketed/exposed (lead?). If firing this though an AR-15, can the exposed lead cause any issues down the road, IE excessive/damaging lead builup in the barrel/gas tube/bolt carrier key.

Thanks for any help.

They are fine.

The lead has to get into a jacketed bullet somehow. Either the tip in hollow points or the base.

Yep... I have a bunch of them also! Just shoot them as any other & enjoy!

You have a choice in monolithic solid copper if it bothers you. I personally have no confidence on FMJ bullets for accuracy, but some do. However, shooting them will solve the question. I could be full of shit, in this particular case. BB

I've got about 500 7.62 FMJs (147 gn) I picked up years ago. They've sat forever and I decided to load some up to use as foulers. I was surprised that they grouped as well as they did: 0.8 MOA at 100 in my 24 inch PSS.
