Re: Colt Bolt Rifle - M2012

They can't keep up producing ARs or pistols, so it only makes sense to expand the product line, lol

Re: Colt Bolt Rifle - M2012

Colt must feel there's a military or law enforcement need for this rifle because I can't imagine civilian sales will be that strong.

Some guys will buy it because it looks "all snipery and shit", others will buy it because it says Colt on the side. Hopefully it is a real shooter and people will buy it for it's own virtues, we'll see.

LowLight hurry up and get your hands on a T&E copy and do a writeup.

Re: Colt Bolt Rifle - M2012

ill never see the attraction in all the retro-fitted AR popsicle stick grips (along with all the other tacky AR bolt-ons) common with all these rifle chassis.

Re: Colt Bolt Rifle - M2012

I thought Colt lost out on the M4 contract to Remington? I figure they'd start tooling up to make Pythons again since their "we're mainly focused on government contracts" business model isn't looking so great. In all seriousness though, Colt has been resting on laurels for awhile and they were long overdue for a new product to hit the market. The stock looks pretty functional, as it were.

Re: Colt Bolt Rifle - M2012

If its as well designed as the Colt CRP18 and shoots as the same, I'd be all over it like a fat kid on a cupcake. Guess time will tell. I've never been a Colt fan based on name, just when they introduce something that actually works hella good.

Re: Colt Bolt Rifle - M2012

just from looking at the spec and the design of the chassis etc, i dont really understand why this would be less desirable than some of the other Chassis based rifle systems available?

Avsfan- there is a gun shop in Colorado Springs with one if you want to check it out, I don't know where in CO you are. I checked it out and really it didn't impress me for the money. The handguard wasn't centered around the barrel so the guy behind the counter squeezed it toward the barrel and it moved, I don't know how they attached it but it doesn't feel very secure. The bolt lift was for a 60 degree lift was ok but kind of felt similar in pressure to a Savage. It is supposed to shoot ok from the magazine articles I've read but doesn't sound much better than a Savage. I would put $4000 toward an AI AE before this one.
