Re: need feed back om cmmg lowers asp

CMMG's a good company. I've used them before and thier products are good quality. No complaints.

You may also want to consider Surplus Ammo and Arms. They are a local Company here in Lakewood (Tacoma) WA near where I live. They have great product and really good prices. They are well respected over on AR15.com (hate that site). Thier specifications and tolerances are really good. I use thier uppers and lowers exclusively (I do now anyway) and have never had complaints or issues. Here's thier link ........

CMMG is a great company. I have pulled the trigger on a number of their platforms at their range outside Fayette. My next AR build will be off of one of their lowers.

I have one. The only complaint I have is that the mag well tolerance on mine is very tight. Pmags and all new mags I have work fine but I have some older GI mags that are very tight and won't hardly go in let alone drop free. Other lowers I have work fine, just the CMMG that is tight. Not a bad thing necessarily but an annoyance nonetheless.

CMMG is a descent company and they have good customer service. They do cut a few corners and are not on par with the top tier guns like Colt, Daniel Defense, BCM, etc. I rate them in line with PSA or S&W and above Rock River, DPMS, Bushmaster, DTI, etc.

May have crossed paths there. I live about 5 miles from there shop/range. Will be there Saturday for a small match.

I have a few of there products and haven't had any problems.

I have two stripped lowers from CMMG, one of which I just built up with a DD lower parts kit. no issues, and works great.

Just curious, what corners do they cut on their striped lowers?

Re: need feed back om cmmg lowers asp

Just speaking in general about their products.

Of the lowers of theirs I have (three) they put a cheap finish on them (maybe a paint as opposed to anodizing?) and some of their holes are a bit tight.

I haven't experienced the tight mag-well problem described above with any of the three CMMG lowers I have.

I agree with Mutt on all three points!

I have had CMMG come through my shop and not had any complaints from customers and have built personal guns and guns for customers off of SAA lowers and again with no complaints. As to to the other point...yup.
