Love my W3 chassis, however I got my hawaiian grandfathers high cheek bones and that little piece hurts like the dickens after shooting. Not recoil wise, it just does not have any padding. I am used to having a nice padded stock pack on my manners...

Any body come up with a way of padding that sucker?

Thats why I sold mine after never even bolting an action into it.

Its just like AI's comb......hard, small and uncomfortable.

This is what i did with my KRG W3. I got the material from Tactical Supply in Yakima, Wa. I know for a fact that he has extra material. You can reach him via his contact info on his website tacticalsupplier.com

It is material manufactured by a company called "sticky"

nokick.com sells a cheek pad in various thicknesses (1/16"; 1/8"; 3/16"; 1/4") with an adhesive back. The pad is oblong and about 5" x 6" which is more than enough to cover the W3 cheek piece. You may be able to get two or three out of one.

I have the same issue with the cheekbones, so I am making a replica of the Sako TRG cheekpiece to replace the W3 profile. It's tapered at the front so it fits my face better.

Digging up an old one here. I'll go take some pictures of mine. I made a drop down, rollover cheek piece from thick Kydex. Of course I tooled a piece of leather bonded to mine for style points and because I could. I'll post a pic of it for you guys.

Mine has the hard plastic version. I made the rollover ABS one and couldn't be happier with it. I have not tried the molded one, at this point I probably won't...mine cost 1.25 to make and about 30 minutes of work.....
