I have a 3x15x50 with double turn MTC knobs. The problem is the elevation will not make the two full turns. It stops at 21 mills. I am new to this scope so I am sure it is me being a window licker and missing something easy. Going to try my google fu and see if I can find the answer. I would expect it to be answered here when I return from the all knowing internet.

Re: Premier Herritage ? on turret

Just because it has "double turn" knobs doesn't mean you will get a full two turns. You only get as much elevation as you have left after zeroing the rifle. 21 mils is plenty of elevation. A .308 takes about 10-12 mils to get to 1000.

Re: Premier Herritage ? on turret

Thanks Rob01 my google fu is very weak. I knew it was a logical answer. If I reset the elevation back to factory it should have enough to make the full double turn. The scope is used so any advice on how to complete that task without me screwing it up. I am use to the EREK adjustments I know this one is not as complicated as that one is.

Re: Premier Herritage ? on turret

Premiers DT will get 20.5 to 21 mil adjustment using a 20MOA base. I get 20.7 mil on my rifle, which Rob already explained exceeds 308 capability.

To get the entire 28 mils, you have to run a 45MOA base which you don't need unless you plan on shooting extreme range. E.g., my buddy is building a 338RUM to take to 2400 yards and he plans to use a 45MOA base. Even with that, he will have to do something like dope 25 mils with a 6 mil holdover.

There's no need to reset the scope to bottom. If mounting on a 308 with 20MOA base, your elevation should be near near zero. If running a 0MOA base, bring it up 5.8 mil and bore sight from there.

LOL

well stated.

Re: Premier Herritage ? on turret

Is the scope zeroed on your rifle or still set where it was when you bought it? If it is not zeroed on your rifle, that is the first thing you need to do. If it is zeroed on your rifle, why would you want to return it to it's factory setting?

Re: Premier Herritage ? on turret

It is not zeroed on my rifle that is why I was setting it back to the factory settings. It will be on a 308 I don't need that much travel for anything I own or distances I shoot at. I was over thinking why it would not complete the full two rotations. So now I have to figure out how much travel is in the scope and find the middle? I assume they ship from the factory set with equal travel up and down?

no.......

Mount it on your rifle. Zero the scope to your POI at your given range. Let the fun begin.
