I'm new to this forum so please have patience! I've been building guns professionally for decades but I'm in a transition from the vintage single shot type rifles into doing bolt guns as well. I'm wondering if any of you guys have experience with the above mentioned scope . I'm considering it for the bolt gun I curently have under construction.

I have one with the duplex reticle. What is your intended purpose for this scope? I use mine for target and prairie dog shooting- works great for that. I like the glass for the price, tracks well, and is light. For extended long range shooting, I would recommend going to something with more elevation adjustment (30mm tube or larger). Another consideration would be going to MIL/MIL adjustments.

Re: Zeiss Conquest 6.5-20

I have one as well and the glass is beautiful!

I belive it has 44 MOA of adjustment, which isn't enough for real extended ranges. I got past this with a 20MOA base.

Good luck!

Kebo, welcome to the hide.

If you are asking for an over all impression on the scope I think that you will find that it is a quality instrument. Great glass and it is built here in the US in Meopta's plant in NY.

You might get the occasional comment about the tube diameter and lack of adjustment so I would let us know what the intended usage will be for the scope and rifle.

Again welcome to the forum.

the rifle this scope will reside on....Pierce short action, single shot, Kreiger 1-8.5" std Palma contour- 6.5 Creedmoor, HS stock, Jewell trigger. Inteneded for target work and speed goats. I can build a base to get added elevation but want to see what the limits are with flat bases first.

Re: Zeiss Conquest 6.5-20

I just got one a month ago. Very impressed so far with the optics, the eye box can get a little finicky at full mag but it isn't the worst I've looked through. Mine has the rapid-z varmit reticle, I like the fine crosshairs of this reticle.
Its been said but if you plan to dial elevation this scope doesn't give you much but with the reticle I have it isn't an issue.

Re: Zeiss Conquest 6.5-20

IMO the brightness, color, and clarity of that scope is better than anything else in it's price range. The limited total elevation is only a problem if you need very long range.

If you already have a flat rail then just use Burris Signature Zee rings. This scope has a 1" tube and Burris has .005, .010, and .020 offset inserts that can be used both front and/or rear. Also remember that scopes operate best optically when close to the center of their travel. Try not to have the elevation bottomed out or topped out at your most common range.

I use the Burris rings on all my scopes with 50 moa or less total elevation. I juggle the insert sizes to get the erector to be about 10 moa from bottomed out when zeroed at 100 yards.

^ good info right there! I have a hunting buddy that has his mounted like this and it works great.

Re: Zeiss Conquest 6.5-20

I have a 6.5-20 with a Z-1000 reticle on an LTR and love it. If you sight it in per Zeiss specifications, it works great. Only shot it out to 750 yds so far.

Re: Zeiss Conquest 6.5-20

You also might want to look at the Sightron SIII line of scopes. The glass is very good and they have 30mm tubes.
