Hey guys,
I've been creeping around here for awhile, (Forgot which email my other acct was on and never recovered it

) Whether you know it, or not, you guys have been extremely helpful! So with that I'll get to it. I have been working on a high end rifle build for the better part of the last two years. I decided on a Sako TRG 42 in 300 win mag. I outfitted it with a Schmidt and Bender 3-12x50 PM2, Sako bipod, Richard Near scope base, rings and muzzle brake. The craftsmenship that Richard Near puts into his products is exceptional! I am very impressed with his products, and service! He was great to deal with. I finally took it out the other day after hunting down some Federal Gold Medal. I have to say that this setup exceeded my expectations, and shoots as good as it looks!!! My first shots were just low of center, hitting the bottom left corner of the 2"X2" center square. It grouped incredibly well, (.42MOA @ 100m), right out of the box! Again I would like to thank you guys for unknowingly helping me with this setup!!!

And now for some pictures!!!

Re: Finally Complete (Pic Heavy)

Thats what it is all about, welcome to the club brother! I have to say I love your set up being a BIG TRG, Bender and Near fan you knocked it out of the park! Also good choice on the factory Sako bipod. If you want to see how good it really is borrow something else and try it, it will make you appreciate the factory bipod much more. Also the 300WM is a very good round that gets passed up a bit too much these days. Keep shooting and let us know how it does when you stretch its legs.

Looks great! Near makes wonderful stuff and I love that Alpha mount. Pure class!

Re: Finally Complete (Pic Heavy)

Thank you guys, I really appreciate it. I have read and searched your posts on this forum for awhile now, and can really say you have guided me to the decision pictured above. I can't wait to get the time to develop a load for it, and get some distance under its belt. If its first 8 round group is any indicator the future is bright for this one!

Re: Finally Complete (Pic Heavy)

Very nice! I love Near mounts. I use Near bases on all my rifles.

Re: Finally Complete (Pic Heavy)

There is a little bit of a gap between the scope and the base. It didn't show in the pictures, but it's large enough to get a small allen key through there.
