I know this forum is more precision, long range shooting but I am currently trying to build a 3 gun rifle. I have been shooting my Dad's matches for about three years and just recently shot in my first "real multigun match". So far I have a Spikes stripped lower, Barrett upper reciever and a parts kit. Some of the parts I am looking at are a Nordic Components barrel, a JP free float handgaurd, magpul PRS stock and an SJC Titan break. I know there are a lot of smart people on here, and any advice would be greatly appreciated. Just remember I'm only 15 and can't dish out $2000.

Re: 3 gun rifle

all you really need is a great trigger, a decent break and excellent optics, a few 100% reliable mags and a boat load of accurate ammo, the rest is just icing.
good luck and have fun at 3 gun matches.

Re: 3 gun rifle

Thanks for the advice, right now I have a RRA national match trigger and am going to wait until the entire build is done before I invest in a Geissele. As for mags I have about 15 PMAGS so im good there. And optics, I still have no idea, hopefully my dad will lend me a scope until I can aford one.

Re: 3 gun rifle

Unless your just really sold on the PRS, I would probably go different route there..save the money and weight and spend the money elsewhere. Titans are a great brake. Have you decided on barrel length and twist (assuming .223), gas system, and possibly the use of an adjustable gas block?

I agree with at the range's assessment, but if you are going to build, you may want to put some icing on that rifle.

Blessings,
BC

Re: 3 gun rifle

Again, thanks for the help. I am probably going to go with a 18 inch barrel with a mid length gas system. I'm just not sure on mid length or rifle length hand guard.
For optics I might go with the Nikon.223 Scopes, and the price isn't bad.
