I've got a Tubb spring I'm gonna try. And I've got an extra buffer that is 4.1oz lying around that I might try, if the length is ok. I have a JP captured spring for my 6.5 Creedmoor to try out also.

Slash buffer and spring in mine...

I did set the cheek weld back further than normal. Not that it had anything to do with tube length...just sayin'

I am working on the same issue right now, decided to go with JP's silent system since the same unit works in carbine or full length, and it costs about the same after paying for a premium buffer and spring.

Depending upon where one lived, it could be a problem...at least that is my understanding.

I just want to know if it works for the $100 they are charging. Me, living in SoCal temp isnt a problem for the most part.
