I have a leupold IMS scope mount.. I mounted the scope to the rifle as I would with any other scope (by hand)and I am maxed out on windage at 100 yards and still off by 4". The scope is grouping and adjusting exactly as it should. I was even able to do a box test with it, so I am thinking it is okay. The rifle is already zeroed with iron sights at 100 yards with no issues. Any advice on trying to re-mount the scope?

Re: Need Help mounting problems

Rail is facing the right way, I thought the gaps are correct I'll check again. what about torque specs, could that make a big change?

Re: Need Help mounting problems

i think torque value matters less than torque order. on your front ring if you tighten the left side all the way before doing anything to the right side it could shift your scope

Re: Need Help mounting problems

Not an uncommon problem.
Solution.....
send gun back to company.
have gun redrilled and tapped to #8-40
fix not recommended... windage adj. bases...TOO WEAK
easy fix.... Burris Signature rings.

Ok, the base is a picatinny and its mounted directly to the top of a Scar 16. I re mounted the scope in the rings. Everything is even, popped the bolt out and looked threw the tube at 50 yards and the scope is still off by 28 clicks, same side. At this point it has to be the mount or the scope, Im thinking scope.

You can't leave us hanging. What did you do? It might help someone else.

Re: Need Help mounting problems

Okay, simple as reading the directions well, or at all. I am such a dufus I shot 50 rounds of match ammo and paid for a range day, and then figured out im stupid..
Okay the scope is a vx-r leupold the turret knobs have built in stops at max evevation and 100yd. Kinda like a cheap zero stop. So, the windage knobs have them too. I never unscrewed the windage turret to bring it to the zero hash mark since I could never achive a 100yr zero. So last night (funny cause Im actually proud I figured this out) I started taking it off the rifle to pack up and send in to leupold when it dawns on me (very dim light bulb coming on) to count the clicks on windage. Huh, thats stupid only 7 inches worth in each direction. Maybe pull the knob off, yep theres a whole bunch more clicks the stop is on the knob not the actual adjustment... Like I said... Im an idiot. Lesson, always read the directions. In my defense, I am horribly spoiled by NF and this is only my second leupy. And the first one with this feature.

Re: Need Help mounting problems

well, at least you only paid for the ammo and range time, and not the shipping/insurance to Leupold. Not to mention, the 2 weeks plus you're out of a scope for them to send it back saying, "Nothing is wrong with your scope."

Re: Need Help mounting problems

True... One of those dipshit moves that got caught in the nick to time
