Gunsmithing K. Plandell's 338LM on a Dakota 76! (woo hoo!)

The last one looked cool, but it didn't have the lockup I wanted on the magazine. Every setup I've seen allows the magazine to rattle like a marble in a can. I'm trying some creative ways to get around this.C.</div></div>

Tried "dimpling" the magazine? Stiffening the latch spring?

I'm dying to get this setup on my Longbow. As you can tell.

Wow ... just WOW! Love the detail in the pics of the DBM machining!

Re: K. Plandell's 338LM on a Dakota 76! (woo hoo!)

Chad,

It appears that you ended up going with the standard "tongue depressor" style latch for the DBM. Based on your earlier comments, it seemed to me like you were attempting to stay away from it.

Did the eventual change of the latch style have something to do with the "marble in a can" rattle you mentioned?
I hope you don't mind my asking, I'm just curious about the development thought process. If you don't wish to share, I understand.

Re: K. Plandell's 338LM on a Dakota 76! (woo hoo!)

Yep. I couldn't make it work the way I wanted it to. After making a half dozen scrap parts I gave up and took the easier route.

THAT is exactly what I'd like to see on mine.

PM me, Chad, re: price/timing.

Thanks.
