$1000 rifle + $280 trigger + $2500 glass=

Traded an AK-47 for a DPMS LR-308 24" bull barrel. Installed a Geissele 2 stage match trigger and topped it with a USO SN-3 3.2-17x. Bore sighted the rifle and took it to the range (aka BLM) this morning. I am very happy with the rifle. I did not shoot for groups but slapped around a small steel target. Very repeatable hits out to around 150 meters. I did not want to heat it up too much since the gun is new and I am suppose to be following a barrel break-in routine.

I have never seen a gas gun pushed to its limits like that. Kudos. Those DPMS barrels are tricky to break in.

Gotta keep that barrel cool for the first 2K rounds, otherwise you'll melt the rifling out of it.
