I'm in the market for a .22lr bolt action rifle. I have had my sights set on a Reminton 581, but they are hard to come by in a left handed configuration. Does anyone have any other recommendations or suggestions?

If you know of a reasonably priced LH 581 you'd be my hero!

Thanks,

bcs

Re: LH .22lr bolt gun recommendations

I'd look at the Savage BTVLSS option... boyd's thumb hole stock, left handed, heavy barrel, stainless steel

They also make the GL (wood stock left hand sporter barrel). If you want a different stock style, check wtih boyds to see if they will inlet a TR (tacticool style) stock for a left hand action.

There is also currently a left hand 581 action (only the action) on gunbroker... 11hrs left on its auction

CZ offers the 452 in a left hand. Not sure about the 455.

Re: LH .22lr bolt gun recommendations

I've been pretty impressed with my Savage MkII lefty. The price is affordable, mags and accessories are pretty easy to find on the support market, and it has (most importantly) been a reliably accurate little rifle.

As a fellow lefty I'll second ivanthesane Savage BTVLSS option as I love mine.

Re: LH .22lr bolt gun recommendations

My savage shoots way better than I can at 50 yds. Really a lot of bang for very little buck. Savage has looked after leftys for a long time.
