Tornado delays my new 5R

I finally decide to buy a Remington 5R in 223 with the 20 inch barrel. I can't wait for it to show up at my local FFL.

I check the UPS tracker and what do I see. "Emergency conditions beyond UPS' control" WTF? Then a bit more investigation. "A train carrying UPS packages was derailed by a tornado Sunday, May 6" Now I am in limbo land with no idea of when this will show up. I get to watch another weekend go by without my new toy.

Been there man. Happened a few weeks back on my Powder Valley order. I ended up grabbing enough supplies locally to load for the weekend, even though the retail pricing was just stupid.

If you are reloading, you could spend that extra time to at least get to the charging (ladder charges) stage of your loads, then you can determine OAL once the rifle arrives.

Hopefully your FFL dealer is quick too. I've ordered stuff and then they end up not calling me for a week after it arrives. Harassing them didn't help either, so I switched to a guy that deals from his house. $10 and very reliable.

I have a Bartlein barrel that was supposed to be delivered today but got the same message in my tracking. Just checked the status a little while ago and it is now scheduled to be delivered on Thursday. Only a day later so I would suspect you will receive your package soon as well.

It's going to be worth the wait. I have one and love it. I shoot 69 grainers mostly , but tested 77 gr SMK last week. It stacked holes. Just can't go wrong with that gun for price and features. I run a suppressor on mine, M4-2000 and that's just plain sick!

Must have been a bunch of goodies on that train, my AICS stock was on there too...UPS shows it on the truck for delivery today!

Where did the tornado occur and when did you expect your packages? I think I am a "victim" of the same circumstances. Not happy because I don't even have a tracking number.

Hopefully the rifle wasn't in the car that was immediately affected by the tornado.

Still it has to be crazy to see that message on your tracking info

it will be worth the wait. . . I just got one and its killing me to get some glass on it.
