Rifle Scopes Butler Creek cap for Vortext Vipes PST 6-24x

Quick question and maybe a stupid one. How do you remove the rubber eye piece on this Vortex scope to put the cap on?? I didnt want to rip it or hurt anything so figured Id ask.

cant you put the cap on over the rubber eyepeice? i defintally would not take it off

cant get it over it. Got the #16 per this forum and Vortex.

I think #16 size is incorrect. I use a #14 size and it fits perfectly while keeping the rubber piece on.

Thanks for the info. I just received my 6-24x50 Viper PST and did some searching. Another person stated that they put on the #16 and that it fit loosely but not enough to fall off. I think I'll pick up the #14.

Actually, now that I think about it, the op is having issues with the #16 not fitting over the rubber and the #16 is larger than the #14. Hmmm...I guess I'll try one and get the other if the first doesn't fit.

So I was curious and measured the actual flip cap inside diameter, it actually was closer to a size #10. Bought it from Gander mountain and will now exchange it for a real #16.

Also have a #14 eye on my 6-24 and it fits perfectly.

Exchanged the cap for a #14 since the only other #16 was another mistake. #14 worked perfect. Not sure what happened to their shipment.

Me too. The #16 was just too big shifting the cap askew by releasing the lever. Bought the #14 and fits snugly the way it should. Now I have a new #16 lying around since I ordered it online and too lazy to send it back.

Yep, I did the same thing. Ordered online, grabbed a 16 as per the recommendations here... way too loose ><

Just got my PST's. Ordered BC with them. Scott at LibertyOptics recommended number 14 Eye and 43 Obj. Fits perfectly.

14 and 43 are correct
