Hey all. I will be picking up my new LWRC REPR in the next week or two and would really love to take a course that would teach me to put it through its paces. I will be in the N.VA area the week of may 28-june 4-5.
Can anyone recommend a course not to far from there? doesn't have to be only at that time since I get there often. but something within one or two hours drive would be great.
thanks in advance.

Except CVT is under new management by one Ed Shell, a regular here, as well as on mdshooters.com and several other boards.

He is without doubt the most knowledgeable and skilled shooter and capable teacher I've known in my life. I took a one-day class from him a few months back on precision carbine with imprecise components which was the best $200 I've spent on training in a LONG time. You too can make consecutive hits on 1/4-sized torsos out to 700 yards with a 16" M4-gery and an eotech red dot sights with M855 rounds.

I'm also proud to call him a friend, having known him since around 1997.

Ask around, you won't find better, whatever your skill level, whatever your long-range (or even close-in) needs.

I'm up in Maryland, and can get down to Louisa, VA in under 2 hours if I leave before 6 AM (beltway is killer). You're probably a half hour closer. Do meet at the Mineral Cafe for breakfast first, they make awesome biscuits and a really good cup of industrial strength (ie. NOT some "we treat our farmworkers with dignity" fair trade crap) coffee.

+1 for Ed. Awesome guy and equally great instructor. PM me if you want his email contact info. Ed is very tough to get instruction time with however as he is in really high demand.

I can also recommend Sean Little, who is a Scout Sniper and runs a school called Vapor Trail Tactical. He goes by "Hogstooth" here on the Hide. Sean is local to No. VA and could probably get you out on MCB Quantico, although I'm not exactly sure on the venue he uses here in No.VA.

Lots of good options here in No. VA.

Re: Northern Virginia rifle courses?

Thanks guys. Not having done a course before I have no idea what weapons systems are allowed. Specifically I would like to use my REPR 16". all the courses seem to be 556. Would this be a problem?

Re: Northern Virginia rifle courses?

Sean does not train in Va. He uses a place in PA and NC. He is running a class this coming weekend in Kinston NC.
I recommend his class.
