Hey Guys,

In the process of putting a .260AI together . Wondering if anybody would care to share their favorite loads for the 123-130 class of bullets. Anybody using H1000? Thanks in advance.

Re: .260AI favorite loads

I haven't used the lighter bullets yet, but I have been shooting the 260AI for awhile now with 140s. I suppose it isn't exactly what you are looking for but I will share anyway.

Lapua case
140 amax
47.5gr H4831SC, this was both the fire forming load and match load post forming.
FGGM primer
COAL-2.835
Velocity-2900
Barrel-28 inches

This load will shoot in the .2s or .3s. I have gotten it down into the .1s before but I can not do that consistently.

My new go to load.

42grs of H4350.
Everything else the same.
Velocity-2800
SD-7fps

This load is much easier on the barrel and every bit as accurate as 4831SC. I was using a Redding FL die and switched to a lee collet 260 die(works on the AI just fine), and my SD dropped dramatically. I have been getting about .5 inch vertical at 300 yards and this load absolutely hammers at 600 yards for an Fclass match. I also used it last weekend on a rock that was 1115 yards away. It hammered that too. I haven't tried H1000 yet, but I would seriously look at the powders I have used, they are probably the most used powders for the cartridge. H1000 is likely to be too slow, but if you already have a bunch of it. Also, 47.5 grains of 4831SC was into the neck of the case, H1000 would probably level off the case.

Hope this helps.
