Re: S&W M&P Pro 9 5"

A buddy kept calling smith and they said they are supposed to go into production may into june

Re: S&W M&P Pro 9 5"

Thanks Guys - All I needed to know is that there was at least some hope that they would begin production. I have waited this long, what's a few more months.

Re: S&W M&P Pro 9 5"

I've sold two on GB recently, each one fetched north of 700. One used with extra mags and one NIB.

Don't plan on getting one for cheap anytime soon, but they're available, at a price.

Re: S&W M&P Pro 9 5"

I can get some M&P's, there not around like they were a couple months back but they are still out there.

Re: S&W M&P Pro 9 5"

Get the M&P 9L and just put the apex kit if you can find one of those. The

Re: S&W M&P Pro 9 5"

I've noticed all the distributors out of MP's too.. I've been looking for a 5" MP to use but now when I'm ready to pull the trigger and its out of stock, maybe a sign I shouldn't buy it.

Re: S&W M&P Pro 9 5"

Keep looking they show up in batches. All my buddy has been able to get lately are compact 9's and 40's, would be nice to have some full size guns on the shelves.

I work at a shop part time and rarely pay retail, then again I rarely paid retail before.

Re: S&W M&P Pro 9 5"

There is one I found at a ripoff dealer for 699...

It honestly didn't look like a 5" barrel, but on the side it did say pro series written in gold. interesting

It looked like this -

but I always thought they looked more like this...

anyone know what's going on here?

He has been fishing for that price for quite some time now. Unless you actually need the slide to say 9 Pro on it, you can pickup a 40 Pro from Bud's for $570 and a KKM 9mm conversion barrel for only $60 more than his auction price.

Edit: Goes without saying you would need to buy mags as well.

Re: S&W M&P Pro 9 5"

You think a month is bad? I was waiting for 16 MONTHS for one. Everytime I found one for sale someone beat me to it. They were scarce as hen's teeth for a long time, but they're coming back on the market.

Re: S&W M&P Pro 9 5"

I had been waiting over a year for one to come available. There are multiple on the market now (without getting gouged$)

Re: S&W M&P Pro 9 5"

They were easy to come by when I got mine in September 2008. Just two months later, they got pretty scarce for a long time.

Re: S&W M&P Pro 9 5"

Yeah, as I stated above, I started looking for one in October 2010. Finally got one a few weeks ago at a local dealer. Smith just can't keep up with the demand of them. They've drawn quite a following in the competitive handgun arena.

I know of one for sale right now. It's slightly used, but the guy will let it go for $575. He had some stippling work done to it, and a few other things if I'm not mistaken. If you are interested let me know, and I will give you his contact info. I don't know the guy personally, but he contacted me on another forum when I was looking for one.

Re: S&W M&P Pro 9 5"

As for the 5" M&P ... do you have to have a 5" slide or is it just the 5" barrel you are looking for?

I own several, and to be quite honest with you my 4.25" M&Ps with KKM 5" barrels shoot better than my Pro.

Just food for thought.

If it's the Smith Pro Trigger you are after then you will be disappointed. I've done 3 trigger jobs on M&P 9 Pros in the past 2 months. Check out my video in the Gunsmithing section.

Re: S&W M&P Pro 9 5"

I'd drop the Apex hard sear and ultimate striker block in any M&P I'd buy. It's a relatively cheap upgrade that will help tremendously.

Re: S&W M&P Pro 9 5"

Found a mp40 pro for like 720

found a mp9 pro for like 820...

I had to pass

Good God man!!! Those prices are flat out rape!!!

I paid $530 for mine.

Oh, and by the way, Smith has improved their triggers in recent production guns. I wouldn't go dropping parts in until you shoot it a couple hundred rounds first. Just a thought.

I work on these pistols a lot, and the ones that I've seen produced after March 2012 have a cleaner trigger. Closer to the Apex upgrade feel.

Check out the gunsmithing section. I posted a video in there that will give you a 'Burwell' type trigger for the cost of your time!

Re: S&W M&P Pro 9 5"

Put a couple hundred rounds through the new M&P 5", last night - Love It! Exactly what I was looking for.

Re: S&W M&P Pro 9 5"

If you can find a Lawmen's, try pricing one there. The one in Raleigh sells M&P's to civilians at MIL/LEO prices.

I got my Pro for less than $550 out the door and my full size for less than that with 3 mags and night sights.

Re: S&W M&P Pro 9 5"

I saw two in the local gunshop near me yesterday. It's Eds Gunshop in Vass, NC. One was $500 and the other I believe was $550.

Re: S&W M&P Pro 9 5"

Are the M&P 9mm that much better than the original SD-9 ?
I have a friend who logged 60-k rounds out the original SD-9 in one year without changing a part .
.

Re: S&W M&P Pro 9 5"

i wish I could pick one up locally at those prices.

I have the money to buy it inflated, but I just can't bring myself to do it...

my leo/mil LGS will order direct from S&W but it takes about a year they said =/

Re: S&W M&P Pro 9 5"

I like the pro trigger better than the Apex. I have the 9mm and .40. I'm probably going sell the .40. I'm trying to thin out my .40's.

I think the Pro is the best value going. Trigger and sights are done.
