Hi everyone, I just recently traded for two rifles: 1 being a Rem 700 308 tatical and the other being a Rem 700 270.

I only want the 308 and would like to sell the 270,
I dont know how to price it fairly and would like your honest opinions.

I think its the cdl version but really cant tell you for sure?
Comes with a cheap tasco pronghorn mounted on it.

Round count was estimated at 150-300 and the wood stock is damn near perfect.

Would gladly email pictures for someone to post because I struggle with this technolgy what not

Any ideas ?

Thanks in advance

Re: Used 700 value

First off, welcome to the hide and, you can't list anything for sale here until you reach 100 posts.

Most guys will say the rifles value lies in the action. Most actions sell for $350 - 400. If the stock is in good shape, maybe another $30. The scope, well, that's a gimmie.

Unless somebody wants a "hunting rifle" ready to go, that's about where you're at.

Re: Used 700 value

Thanks for the welcome. That 100 post minimum is kinda a downer but I understand the purpose.

Shocked that 30 bucks is all the beautiful wood stocl is worth

They're only worth about as much as someone is willing to pay, and unfortunately, Remington Take-offs are pretty easy to find. $30 is the going price for a wood stock, and around 40 for a take-off barrel.

Re: Used 700 value

No intentions to bypass rules. Just curious on what kind of deal I made and if I can get my money back. Thanks for all the info

Re: Used 700 value

At the end of the day, its still a 700 action, with a decent bolt face size.. I would expect a 2008 700 in 270 to carry 80% or better of the value of a brand new one. I'd take the tasco off , for me at least it would be a con.. Unless it was a nice tactical version. Dump it at a local gun show...

Does not cost anything to put it up for sale at whatever number makes you feel good and see what happens...

Re: Used 700 value

To end the thread appropriately I got $575 out of the Rem 700. Local Ohio guy was looking for a out of state hunting gun and loved it

Thanks every one for ur inputs
