Suppressors 300WM thru a SDN6

Re: 300WM thru a SDN6

Yeah, Mike Mers suggested the SDN-6 as a replacement for my defective/damaged 762SD. I just got it (8 month wait after F3 and F4 transfers) and shot it on the .300WM this past Sunday.

This is my first 51t can. And I'm not all that happy with the mount. If you don't really torque the shit out of the can, it will slip back a notch and wobble. But when tight, I got excellent accuracy from the .300WM and it did not shoot loose. Mine is a factory 700P with a 26" barrel. One group of 5 had 4 touching at 200 yards (pretty good for me).

After the F3 transfer, we went to the dealer's shop and shot 3 cans side-by-side: new 762SDN-6, old (first gen) Cyclone converted to 18t, and YHM titanium .308 QD. We shot all 3 cans through nearly identical Noveske N6 18" rifles. None of us noticed any difference in sound signature among the 3 - which frankly makes the YHM impressive. I've never been impressed with their stuff before - cheap, big, loud, heavy. But that titanium .308 QD can is nice.

So I only have 10 rounds of .300WM through the SDN-6 and only time will tell.

Suppression is fine - sounds like a .308 through the same can.

In another life, when money is no object and I can get dedicated cans for each gun, I'll get a TBAC.

Is your barrel a 24"? Brake or flash hider? Did AAC say that combination (300WM/SDN6) was good to go?

Re: 300WM thru a SDN6

Mine is the 7005R, I have the 51t mount I was going to use on my larue.. and decided in the transfer process to get the SF762K and let that on my larue. I also have a MB211C for the SF to go on the 7005R.
When I chatted with Mers the AAC300SD wouldn't be good for the rapid fire 762 so I went with the SDN6.

Yea i check with them to be sure.. Anything longer than 22" barrel is good. Mine is 24.5
Surefire was good with the 300WM thru the 762K can also.. They don't have a dedicated can for the 300wm, but they do for the 338. I thought they were going to say the 762mini was good for 300wm, but they havent tried that combo.. so no go on the mini

I'll think I'll just use the sdn6 for 300black out..?

26", brake. He gave it to me as a replacement for the 762SD and said it should be find for my .300WM application.
