300 Norma Mag Goodness

Finally got around to getting a pic of my 300 Norma.

Spec's REM 700, M-16 extractor, 28" Pac-Nor barrel W/a RWS brake from here on the Hide, A-5 stock, Nightforce rings and SS scope.

I first worked up a load with 208's and H-1000 W/215M's running 3100 fps and shooting well below .5 MOA.

I started another work up with 220 SMK's and Retumbo W/215M's. I thought was worth a pic. The load isn't complete yet but I think I have a pretty good grip on it. This is a 3-shot group at 400 yards with a 1.0 gr charge variance . It was a overcast day with a 2 mph wind from 3 o'clock. Loaded up six with the 86.0 gr charge and it looks like thursday will be another good day to test.

Rusty: The barrel is a 9 twist Pac-Nor at 28".

Stan: Geoff Corn built it as well as several other rifles for me. He's out of Springfield CO now.

Nice rifle!

Thinking of getting a rifle chambered in 300NM myself. Do you think 3200 fps with 208 Amax in a 28" Krieger is too much to expect?
