so a buddy came over last weekend and we were comparing some scopes lookin down the street at rose bushes at around 400 yards. We wanted to be able to quickly go from one to the other so we concocted this aparatus with a spare railed float tube on my manfrotto ballhead
it worked ok but this got me thinking of a better solution, something with a horizontal bar so they are in line. Keep in mind this is not for looks, and is cheap ass guy here.
its 50% done but you can get the idea. I used the tripod plate that came with the manfrotto ballhead and screwed it to the bottom of a 2X4. I got 6 of the cheapest ass weaver bases i could find(9 bucks apiece) and wood screwed them to the 2X4, i have 3 done now, just need to do the other side. The fresh cut marks are cause the cheap weaver bases cross slots are shitty and only had 2 per base so with a dremel and a file i cut some more. I will paint over the whole thing when its done. Now this is a super cheap ugly way to do it but you get the idea, and it will do its intended purpose just fine. If i had more money and tooling what would be better is maybe a steel flat cross bar with good scope bases welded to it.
