eBay must be run by morons...

Last night I started a new auction for a part I took off my DPMS (JP trigger group). Since I recently replaced it with a Geissele, I no longer needed it. I saw several other triggers groups (including JP & Geissele) for sale on eBay, so I assumed it way okay to sell it on there.

This morning I had an email from eBay stating that they pulled my auction because it was determined that the item I was selling was (directly from eBay email): "<span style="color: #3366FF"><span style="font-style: italic">Your JP Enterprises Competition AR Trigger Group are considered parts for an assault weapon as defined by U.S. Federal or California state law. eBay does not permit the sale of any assault weapon-related parts or accessories. Parts are generally defined as items that attach to the gun to assist in the function of the weapon. Accessories are defined as items associated with the use of a weapon.....Please do not re-list your item.</span></span>"

Okay.... I was pissed, but I decided if those were the rules, then so be it....even though I don't consider my rife an "assault weapon" since anyone....in ANY state...can purchase one if they don't have a criminal record or whatever. I was going to let it slide and just keep the darn thing.

Just minutes ago I receive another email from eBay. This one states (again, directly from eBay email): "<span style="color: #3366FF"><span style="font-style: italic">We want to inform you eBay's Hunting category has expanded to include more items, which could mean more buyers and sales for you. Now you can list the following firearm parts and accessories on the eBay US site (eBay.com) with domestic shipping:

Enbloc clips, Barrels, Bolts, Choke tubes, Cylinders, Firing pins, <span style="text-decoration: underline"><span style="font-weight: bold">Hammers </span></span>, Magazines with a capacity to accept 10 rounds or less (high-capacity magazines that can accept more than 10 rounds are not allowed), Slides, <span style="text-decoration: underline"><span style="font-weight: bold">Trigger assemblies</span></span></span></span>"

Are these people complete idiots?
Last night it was against the rules and then all of the sudden this morning it is okay. I wonder if this was just a huge coincidence that I happened to list and item the day before they changed their minds on a particular policy, or if someone higher up the food chain saw that they pulled my auction in error.

Either way....this is the second issue I've had with eBay in the last two years. I've had several good experiences, but this kinda pissed me off.

Have any of you guys ever had similar experiences with them?

"PayPal's Real-World Dominion Expanding To 15 Additional Major Retailers"

"PayPal said it will be rolling out its payment options at the following retailers:
Abercrombie & Fitch, Advance Auto Parts, Aéropostale, American Eagle Outfitters, Barnes & Noble, Foot Locker, Guitar Center, Jamba Juice, J.C. Penney, Jos. A. Bank Clothiers, Nine West, Office Depot, Rooms To Go, Tiger Direct and Toys "R" Us."

Paypal is Ebay so be wary now that their coming to stores everywhere and are still able to claim that they're not a bank...Hmmm.

Re: eBay must be run by morons...

No...what you missed was the fact that your parts are dirty "assault rifle" parts that are only designed to kill poor innocent people. The OTHER hammers and trigger groups are FINE because they are nice and clean and don't go on scary guns with pistol grips and detachable magazines with more than 10 round capacity!

What kind of idiots? The very best money can buy.
