Looking cool and matching up with a CF rifle so as to function as a trainer is 1/2 of the equation - now show us how it shoots. Then start talking about delivery times and pricing.

Good luck

I'd love to mate but after that scope served me so well on my .308 it has for some reason just shit itself

Anyone know where I can send a Millett to for warranty in Australia? And don't say the bin

Once again, I know it's taking a while but once I sort out the riser and maybe the other butt set up we'll be in full swing.

Re: Savage MKII into AICS (not Airsoft)

Could you provide the dimensions? I haven't had a machining project in a while and would like to start one again. How hard would it be to do this on a manual mill?

Re: Savage MKII into AICS (not Airsoft)

Sorry mate, I haven't done up any drawrings or dimensions, I work by trial and error

If the CNC guys will share thier cad drawrings I'd be happy to pass em on.

Re: Savage MKII into AICS (not Airsoft)

Just another quick update,

Cheek riser arrived from Victor Co and is really good quality
Excuse the raw metals, I'll wait to get the butt sorted before I paint the rest

Decided to tidy up the old skins so give em a hit with some FDE Cerakote

Just waiting for the new butt to arrive then I'll have an exact price.

Re: Savage MKII into AICS (not Airsoft)

Man you do some good work I remember when this thread first started, so many good ideas came together to create a very nice trainer.

Re: Savage MKII into AICS (not Airsoft)

Thanks mate, she's coming along.

Looking at adding one of those knockoff Parker Hale bipod setups too, shouldn't increase the price much at all.

Re: Savage MKII into AICS (not Airsoft)

Yes mate, Sorry it's taking so long but the butt I ordered is no good so I'm liasing with Gregt to see If we can adapt one of his designs.
It'll be a touch more $$$ but a lot better quality.

Re: Savage MKII into AICS (not Airsoft)

Not 100% sure mate, I'd have to find one to try out, the magazine channel would have to be bigger.

Re: Savage MKII into AICS (not Airsoft)

A little too rich for my blood but pretty sweet to have the option for the guys who have full size AICS'! Not a bad deal for a high quality chassis that obviously had a lot of thought put into it.

Thanks mate, I'm a bit dissapointed it ended up this price but it all adds up and I'd rather sell fewer high quality kits than heaps of cheap crap.

Re: Savage MKII into AICS (not Airsoft)

I have been very kindly asked to change the name of this kit so it will now be advertised and referred to as S1CK (Sierra1 Chassis Kit)

Cheers
S1

Re: Savage MKII into AICS (not Airsoft)

If I had the money I would be shoving it into your hands

Maybe one day.

Re: Savage MKII into AICS (not Airsoft)

I apologize to bring this thread back from the dead, but did it ever mention the dimensions of the chassis? Any help would be very appreciated thanks!

Re: Savage MKII into AICS (not Airsoft)

I'd be interested in the tube kit if you get around to it. I don't plan on ever buying an AICS, so I won't be "training" for anything.

Re: Savage MKII into AICS (not Airsoft)

Great build! Have you considered outfitting your machine with aftermarket CNC equipment? A buddy of mine just pieced together a CNC outfit for his Grizzly mill. I think he came in under $2k for the entire project. He machined his own bracketry and had it completely built in a couple of weeks (a few hours here and there after he got off work). I'd imagine your price point could be changed drastically if you didn't have to outsource the machine work. The CNC would pay for itself in no time!
