iPhone all the way for me...personal preference I guess...might have trouble with some flash player stuff, other than that take a look at battery life, and capabilities, Depending on what you need to do with your phone..just my two cents...

iPhone hands down. The capabilities are limitless. There's about half a million applications floating around now. Exceptionally user friendly too. My 73 year old parents can't plug in a DVD player, but have their iPad (read big iphone) down pat. Spoke with Verizon commercial sales rep and asked the same question. He said iPhone was hard to beat. Android platform is on its way, but not there yet. For what its worth, if your patient enough to wait till October, the "experts" anticipate the release of iPhone 5 round then.

I have done the older android and the iPhone, The iPhone wins hands down... I use it here (Afghan) and there (all over US) and it hasn't failed me yet. Started with a 3 and now have a 4 something. Plus the bullet flight app on the iPhone is a scary accurate app when set up correctly.

My kids have the i phone and they are very nice. Personally my biggest dislike of Apple is no wmv/adobe functionality and that it is a dated OS and design. On my carrier a droid is much faster. I am no techie though so I don't know much, I just don't care to be one of the Apple lemming army.

Not until iphone goes 4g. The difference in speed is amazing. I have 4 g in town but not here at home yet (just was rolled out locally in the last month and it isn't available every where in the county just yet) As soon as 4g is available at the house I'm dropping my hughes.net satellite service and using my Razr Maxx as a hotspot. The battery life on the Razr Maxx is outstanding as well.

Both work... I'd pick the one that operates best with the Shooter ballistic calculator(which I think is the Droid)...The Droid's compass function and Google Sky Map are both awesome.

They are just rolling it out over in Gillette so should be full blown by end of summer I would think.

Iphone.
Wait another month or two and get the Iphone 5, it will be 4G and some other nice improvements. Even if you decide against the Iphone wait until the 5 is out, it will probably bring down the prices of the Android 4G phones a little.

If you have big hands then the iPhone may annoy you. I hate typing on the iPhone. I like my Droid because it has the slide out keyboard. But I'm big on functionality.
I would try them out and see which you like better. Also, make sure you pick the best cell provider with the strongest signal in your area of use. A bad signal makes any smartphone pretty dumb.

Another vote for the iPhone, and if you can wait for the next one to roll out. Like it was mentioned earlier even if you decided not to get the next iPhone it'll drop all the others prices. As for a dated OS on the iPhone was that some kinda bad joke or you do work for microsoft? Turn the phone sideways and the keyboard gets bigger

I have the iPhone 4S and love it. Can't wait to see what they are going to offer in the next one.

Had the iPhone 3GS and when they went to OS 5 my phone quit working along with many other people's phones. I went to the Apple Store and they told me the best thing to do was upgrade to the 4S. Go figure. While I stood there in the Apple Store waiting for them to look at my phone, I noticed approximately 6 other people in there for the same reason. I spoke with them and they all had the same issues after installing the "upgrade".
I believe Apple puts out great products but (and it is a huge but), I believe they will force upgrades through software "enhancements" that cause problems in older models.
I left a comment about my visit and the manager called me about a week later. He said that he could understand how it appeared since there was a lot of people coming in with the same issue but, he assured me, it was only a coincidence. Yeah Right.
I voted with my $$$ and bought a Motorola Atrix 2 and my wife got a LG. I have to say, I like the Android system and have seen no real disadvantage over the iPhone. In fact, I have seen advantages - customizable ring tones and MMS tones.
It's just my $0.02 but it's seems like a pattern with Apple since the same thing happened when they went to the iPhone 3 and 3GS.

Razr Maxx IMO.
1. Battery life is...well by far the best out their.
2. Apps are free for just about anything you could want. There are many paid apps as well and some you can donate to. The Strelok ballistic app is an excellent app for shooters IMHO, and the guy is very quick to respond to change requests for it. I emailed him to add the new MOAR reticle for NF scopes and it had the app updated in a day.
3. Camera is quick and takes good pics. iPhone has better camera, but if I am wanting a top quality pic, I use the Canon D60 not my phone.
4. Screen quality is brilliant and uses Gorilla glass which is fairly scratch resistant.
5. Another factor is do you use a PC or Mac at home. Our PCs all run Windows 7 and the Android based phones sync for music and such flawlessly.
6. Probably the biggest advantage for me though the the access to my info across devices; I can access my contacts and email from any PC, or tablet, or my phone. Any change I make to my contacts on one is reflected across these devices.
7. Navigation via Google mapping program is really nice.

I can't stand apple and it's products that being said for some odd reason samsung keeps increasing the size of their smart phones. 4" to 4.2" to 4.8". If the Iphone 5 isn't a rip off like the 4s then i say go for it.
What people didn't realize about the 4s is the features it's promoting have been on the galaxy S2 for 6 months. The processor in the 4S is considerably slower than the S2 and then apple added seri to it and called it a game changer. If the 5 lives up to the hype it might be worth while, i have my doubts with Jobs gone.

Definitely iPhone. I had one for 4-5 years already and practically use it more than my laptop. Rumor has it that the iPhone 5 will be out in the fall.
