i just received a new McCrees chassis system and wanted to let everyone know that i am quite satisfied. i wasnt much of a fan of chassis systems until i started to look at them practically and not aesthetically. the looks take some getting used to but i feel the benefits far outweigh any visual shortcomings. when the chassis arrived i bolted my barreled action, a surgeon RSR and krieger 22" 1-12, to it with a nice even torque using the supplied wrench. i have no idea what the torque value is since i dont have an inch pound torque wrench yet. i loaded up 6 rounds of the load i have been shooting lately which is winchester brass, wolf lr primer, 45gr of re15, and a 168mk at 2.8" oal. the barreled action came out of a well bedded mcmillan and shoots well. the first round was 1/4" out of the next 5 which went into a sub 1/2 moa group. that is what i expect out of the rifle in the mcmillan and this is a testament to the manufacturing of the McCrees chassis. what even better is that i was within 1" of zero and much of that could have been attributed to the wind. i find the chassis to be comfortable and somewhat familiar since i have always preferred a thumbhole stock and the pistol grip mimics that well. the magazine supplied with the stock feeds better than ANY other i have ever tried to this point. i just dont see how you can go wrong with this system. the only thing i intend to change is going to a grip with a palm shelf. from what i have read i believe Mr. McCree to be a true patriot and proponent of the american way. he has my business from here on out.
