Ok the first day is in the books. The morning started off cool, but later in the day it got HOT. The match is going well. Quite a few people in our group shooting good. We are shooting from a lot of different positions. Here are a few photos.

Re: 2012 Louisiana Tac./Prec. Rifle match updates

Pete, one of these days I will actually shoot a match again instead of my one shot when nobody is around. Looks like a good match. Enjoy and do well. VERY HOT here as well. Be safe.

Re: 2012 Louisiana Tac./Prec. Rifle match updates

Congratulations Shannon. Good strong finish and it was great to see you and Pimp. Ditto to Wade and Geordie.

Adam pulled off a great competition and we need to remember that he is probably still picking up targets and doing after action stuff at the range today as I type this. Many do not realize how much time goes into this type of competition before and after the event. We all appreciate what you did Adam.

Special thanks have to go out to Adam's army of Range Officers and support people. I'm not sure but probably about 16 or so people volunteered to handle those chores. Miss Lauren not only handled the stats and scoring but was also a runner between stages and played mother hen getting water to everbody in the heat. We appreciate all of your effort and time. It trully was hard work on your part.

Big, big thumbs up to all of the sponsors that supported this competition and to L.A.P. Rifles for building the two prize rifles.

I was able to meet and visit with old friends as well as some new shooters in my squad. Good stuff and I had fun, even when I couldnt' connect with any targets.

Everybody have a safe week.

Re: 2012 Louisiana Tac./Prec. Rifle match updates

First I would like to thank Adam for putting this on, also a big thanks to all the RO's who did a great job. Everyone was very thorough and ran us through an impressive number of stages.
Overall it was an awesome match and I was able to learn a lot.

I too was able to meet many new shooters and enjoyed getting to know all of you and seeing how some of these stages are to be run.

I second Terry's post. These matches take a great deal of time and effort to pull off. We should all be thankful to Adam, Rob and their crew for doing such a great job, especially considering this was their first major match and that they did it 5 hours from home!

A special hooray for Lauren. She not only produced all the match books and assorted printed material, she scored the match, kept us full of water, and was even out picking up targets after the match to the point of heat exhaustion. And on top of that, she has to put up with Rich the other days of the year.

Congratulations to my friends Shannon, Wade and Georgie for that 1,2,3 finish. Also, Tom and Matt, great finishes for Bravo squad. I enjoyed spending my weekend with y'all.

Re: 2012 Louisiana Tac./Prec. Rifle match updates

I want to thank Adam and crew for sacrificing their time to allow me a great weekend of shooting. You guys did a great job and it's very much appreciated.

I want to congratulate Shannon, Wade, and Geordie for some great shooting. I'm looking forward to taking what I've learned from watching you guys compete and shooting with everyone soon.

Re: 2012 Louisiana Tac./Prec. Rifle match updates

A huge thank you to EVERYONE that helped with the LTPRC. I had a great time and it was good seeing everyone again. Thank you for making an enormous sacrifice to put this match on and run it safe and smooth.

Thank you to ALL the sponsors for stepping up and giving us a very nice prize table.

For the shooters I got to meet for the first time, thanks for making it a fun match as well. I hope I get to shoot with each one of you again in the future.

Thanks again all, great match and we'll see you next time but with a BOLT GUN in hand for me

Re: 2012 Louisiana Tac./Prec. Rifle match updates

First I would like to thank Adam, Rob and all of the range ro's for the hard work that went in to putting all of this together with extreme professionalism. Lauren thank you for the dedication of keeping everyone hydrated this weekend.

For all of the sponsors thank you for all of the donations and the time some of you took to be at the match and visit with the shooters. All of the sponsors can count on my business and me recommending you to all I meet. Thank you!

Thank you William Roscoe (Louisiana precision rifles) for all of your help and building me such a fine rifle.

Thank you to the members of Bravo squad 11-22 for the fellowship and making a new shooter feel welcome and right at home. Great bunch of guys!!!

Congratulations to all of the winners.

My first match, I'm hooked!! Adam, Rob and guys I have never been challenged like this before. This match really pushed me to the extreme of my skills and knowledge. I learned a ton from all of the stages. I am excited about taking this experience back to the house and pushing myself to be better. I don't have any thing to compare this to but I will say I can't think of anything that could have made it better.

I would recommend to anyone that has never shot in one of these tactical precision matches to find one and sign up. You will learn more in two days than you can imagine. The experience and the information learned is worth more than the cost of the entry fee.

Again thank you all and I can't wait to shoot with you all again.

Re: 2012 Louisiana Tac./Prec. Rifle match updates

Thanks to Adam, Rob, and all the RO's who made the match possible.

Also to all the sponsors for making such a nice prize table. Big thanks to Roscoe for giving us the opportunity to represent him by sponsoring us. He builds some fine rifles as you already know. Just wish we had of shot to our full potential at this match.

Congrats to S. Kay for a great win.
Was great to meet all the new faces and see some of the familiar ones. Was a fun time.

Thanks,
Greene

Yea, me too

Adam, Rob, Rich, Lauren and all the RO's, great job. There was a ton of work that went into this match and it showed. Very safe fun match with challenging stages and very little down time. This was a great match and I had a great time. Mike, good to finally meet you, damn your tall dude
wink.gif

Chase/Green, my pleasure, glad ya'll made it down. Pete, always a pleasure to see you.

Terry, good to shoot with you, you're always a hoot.

Man what a great prize table. Too many sponsors to mention. We were very fortunate to have McMillan, Manners, Surgeon, Defiance machine, Brux & Bartlein donate enough of their products that two rifles could be built for the table.

Manners also donated a second stock, what a guy that Tom Manners is. The crew from Bartlein came down and passed out T shirts and hats and Curtis from SPF was also here. Great bunch of guys.

These matches are a great training aid and like Heath said, find one and attend. You’ll learn more in two days at a match than you will at your home range in a week.

Re: 2012 Louisiana Tac./Prec. Rifle match updates

Haha. Thanks for pointing out my spelling issues. That was supposed to say we, not he. LOL

Re: 2012 Louisiana Tac./Prec. Rifle match updates

As stated by others above, Adam, Rob and the rest of the crew pulled off one heck of a match. It ran smoothly and efficiently, which can only result from a ton of hardwork and forethought. You guy should be proud to have pulled it off as well as you did. Also, it is not everyday that several of the top shooters in the country are helping run a match instead of competing in it.

Congrats to Shannon, Wade, Geordie and the rest of the top shooters. Great shooting. It's always good to see great guys finish as the top.

Thanks to ALL of the sponsors. The prize table was amazing. Roscoe put together two beautiful rifles. Like Pete said, everyone remember the sponsors in the future when your wallets come out.

To Bravo 12-22, it was fun shooting with you guys and I look forward to seeing each of you again. I was glad I could demonstrate how NOT to do things for two days!!

Re: 2012 Louisiana Tac./Prec. Rifle match updates

Congrats to S. Kay, Wade and Geordie and all the top shooters. Well done.

A big thanks to Adam, Rob, and Lauren for putting on a challenging but fun match. All of the RO,s.....Rich, Dustin, Todd, Chase and a host of others did a great job keeping us safe , hydrated and running smoothly.
Really enjoyed shooting with squad Charlie.

Once again the Sponsors did a great job of supporting our sport. Thank you.

Cheers....Stan

Re: 2012 Louisiana Tac./Prec. Rifle match updates

<span style="font-size: 11pt"><span style="color: #000099"><span style="font-family: 'Courier New'">WELL-DESIGNED, RUN MATCH

For those who worked to produce this match;
Thank you for your time, talent and resources. I appreciate your efforts and the successful result of it.

For the shooters;
Producing a match of this significance requires hard work for about 6 months. The prize table must be solicited from sponsors, and that requires countless emails and phone calls to each sponsor. They are busy with business so the onus is on the solicitor to get it done, not the sponsor.

A course of fire must be conceived and then designed, and it must suit the match site. For this match, the producers had not produced a match at our range complex. Therefore, they had to negotiate, measure, align, dig, hammer, buy, beg, cuss, build, shoot........ad infinitum. The stress to make a match work is heavy so they begin far out in time to solicit prizes. Attracting shooters is accomplished with prizes.

The two match directors, primarily, and Rich and Lauren and others who worked with Luck and Baker, expended huge amounts of time preparing the every conceivable problem that might occur and sought effectively to solve those problems.

Yes. An excellent marksman using capable gear, with luck, is responsible for winning. But the prize was available, on the table, because, and only because, the match directors and their assistants, and the sponsors, placed that prize on the table. Their work made it possible for us to take-home a prize. Otherwise, these matches would be just another boring trophies-only match in the humid heat and cold rain. Instead, for example, Rosco spent numerous days building two rifles. Not might-shoot-well rifles. Custom, hand-made/fitted rifles, and contributed them to the prize table. That means he gave his time, talent, industry, sweat so a few excellent marksman using capable gear, and with luck, could grab a valuable, sought after, prized hand-made marksman's rifle. Rosco's gift to the two top shots is an example. There are others as well. Terry Cross, GAP, etc.. Numerous sponsors contributed to our match. Juggernaut, for example, was actually there with gear to demonstrate. I thought that was a crafty way to exhibit gear. Email them when you buy from them to thank them for their sponsorship, and if their sponsorship influenced your decision to select their product, tell them. It matters. Its business.

For shooters up and coming;
Keep at it, train, fiddle with your software while relaxing at night (or at work ;)) , and consider ROing, and even producing a match.

Thank you Sean McKay, Russel Dean and Rosco.

Team LA Precision Rifles; Awesome!

Brian, Sean, David, Heath, Pete, Rosco, Chase, Jason, Terry; I had great fun shooting with you, and hope our camaraderie (and my shooting) flourishes.

Producing a match is how we contribute to our sport. We reciprocate.

At least two are needed to organize one and numerous others to assist. Actually, I'm thinking Sommers and Long. How bout it guys? I bet you could put on a helluva match and you have big shoes to fill.

Re: 2012 Louisiana Tac./Prec. Rifle match updates

I won't rehash what all the others have said, but another VERY big thanks to all the sponsors, volunteers and ROs, what a huge success.

I still can't believe that this was the first match that Adam and Rob have put on, they truly did a fantastic job. Having shot matches literally all over the country I can safely say that this match was on par with ones ran by guys who have done it a dozen times. Impressive showing guys, well done.

Re: 2012 Louisiana Tac./Prec. Rifle match updates

I would like to say Thank You to Adam, Rob, Rich, Lauren, Dustin, Todd, Justin, Mick and all the other RO's who made this shoot run as smoothly as it did. Your time and efforts are greatly appreciated. As everyone has already said the match was a blast. It was very well run with challenging courses of fire that were enjoyable to shoot.

To the sponsors, your dedication to the sport and generosity continues to impress all of us. Thank you.

It was great to see and shoot with everyone again, and it was nice to meet some new people and put faces to screen names.

Hope to see you all again at a shoot.

Regards,

Matt Tederman

Re: 2012 Louisiana Tac./Prec. Rifle match updates

I know I’m coming in late but, many thanks and recognitions are in order after a match of this caliber.

First to Adam and crew – I know you are still exhausted and can’t imagine doing this again. But, our sport is indebted to you for your efforts and we can only hope you choose to continue to build off your great success with future matches. Selflessly, I would love to make your match one of the few I attend each year. Thank you for your hard work guys – it is more than recognized and appreciated. See ya next year in LA
wink.gif

To the sponsors of the match - you represent your business and the community proudly and it is not taken lightly. We must continue as shooters to support these sponsors as we all grow together. Special thanks to LA Precision Rifles, Surgeon Rifles, Mc Millian, and Bartlein Barrels. I was luckily enough to win a beautiful rifle with phenomenal components from these guys! Thank you!

For all the shooters – I wish we had more time to chat, but it was great seeing familiar faces and meeting new ones. I think Mic’s son Cody had the time of his life. I know Geordie was working with him a lot all weekend, but I don’t think he realized Geordie was the match leader most the way. I can’t name a sport where you will see such comradery from some of the best in game to the newest of shooters. Very classy!

Wade, Geordie, Tom, Jason and Bryan my hats off to you, fine shooting! I’m glad the match ended when it did, you all were finishing strong. See you at the next one!

Shannon

Re: 2012 Louisiana Tac./Prec. Rifle match updates

I really appreciate y'all taking the time to say thank you.
Again thank you to all of you who shot the match....we couldn't have had a better group of guys show up for the match.
I'd also like to thank all of the RO's that helped with the match. Thank you for all the support, there's no way I could have done it without you.

Re: 2012 Louisiana Tac./Prec. Rifle match updates

Looks like a fun time...next match if i am off work i would like to make it out

Re: 2012 Louisiana Tac./Prec. Rifle match updates

Havnt had a chance to set down and give my utmost thanks to Adam and the rest of the crew that put this match on. The match was great and well worth the trip down. It was very apparent the amount if work that went unto the setup and planning. Match flowed well and had some great stages, can't ask for more than that. Big congrats to Shannon on a very impressive score and win.
