I just wanna say a BIG 'thank you' to Chris and Jay at Sport Optics. The guys really take good care of their customers and today, I received my new toy - the NightForce NXS 5.5-22x56mm HS ZS MOAR. I am very impressed with it, as I had no doubt I would be.

THANKS GUYS!

Re: Sport Optics - I'm Lovin' It!

+1 on Sport Optics the their customer care, prices are great too! I really like the MOAR reticle and the scope is typical Nightforce quality that we expect. The only nitpick I can find with the scope is the way you have to change the reticle brightness, PITA. My old Nightforce has a dial adjustment on the side where the focus is now.
Will definitely go back to Sport Optics when I need a new scope for the 300 blackout I am planning!

Re: Sport Optics - I'm Lovin' It!

+2 for Jay and Chris at Sport Optics. They will both help and advise you on what ever questions you might have without regard to their bottom line. It's the only place I will ever buy scopes in the future

I love the MOAR reticle. It's a little more bold than the NP-R1 and I could be imagining things but it sure seems like the glass on the new NXS has better clarity than does the 2010 NXS with the NP-R1.

Re: Sport Optics - I'm Lovin' It!

Thanks for the support guys. We try to run things as if it were our money being spent and try to get you into the best possible bang for your buck.

As we continue to grow we will always try to keep our "pro shop" mentality and strive to provide the best customer service in the industry.

We really encourage you guys to call in with questions no matter how small or dumb they may seem. That's what we are here for.

As for the MOAR, I am really enjoying the reticle as well. With the way the reticle is set up it's nice how the target can be bracketed while punching paper. I don't find that it is overly thick but if they would come out with a MOAR and maybe a MOAR-F (fine) that might be kinda sweet. Maybe get rid of NP-R1/R2 and replace it with MOAR variations? What do you guys think?

Thanks to you guys again for all the support.

Re: Sport Optics - I'm Lovin' It!

Nightforce's website now lists the MOAR reticle as being available on the 2.5-10 Compact NXS. ANy idea when thses will be in stock?

Re: Sport Optics - I'm Lovin' It!

Ive always had good experiences with the guys at sport optics. I Highly recommend them

Re: Sport Optics - I'm Lovin' It!

Just spoke with Nightforce. The MOAR reticle offering for the 2.5-10 on their website was a mistake. They "may" add the MOAR reticle to the 2.5-10 in the December time frame but it is yet to be determined.

Re: Sport Optics - I'm Lovin' It!

thanks for all the support guys, single stack, if you want, we can let you know when that scope starts shipping, we'll get you into the first ones that ship

Re: Sport Optics - I'm Lovin' It!

Ordered one late last week (NF, not MOAR) , arrived today. Good prices, good service and now I got a good scope on my hunting rig. Sucks, gotta work all week thinking about this bad boy.

Re: Sport Optics - I'm Lovin' It!

Is the MOAR an MOA based reticle? Or can it be had in MIL?

Re: Sport Optics - I'm Lovin' It!

An NXS with a MIL based reticle would no doubt be a huge hit with the mil-based crowd.

Re: Sport Optics - I'm Lovin' It!

I feel pretty lucky to live within easy driving distance of both support optics and shooters discount. Of not for both these online Sellers having showrooms most all of my purchases would be via mail.

Isn't the MLR a mil based reticle?

Yes, it is, but it's nothing like the MOAR reticle. The MLR2 is pretty close to the MOAR in terms of reticle detail.

What I'm curious to know is why the earliest release of the MOAR reticle had 30moa marks on the elevation and my own only has 20moa marked.

This image is of the first model reticle. You can scroll up to see my own.

Re: Sport Optics - I'm Lovin' It!

I'm wondering if that is a picture of the 3.5-15 reticle?

Taking the NPR-1 reticle for instance, the 5.5-22 has 20 MOA where as the 3.5-15 has 30 MOA.

I called over to NF but the guys with the answers were at lunch.

Chris,

I believe that's probably what it is because your 3.5-15x models show 30moa whereas the 5.5-22x only show 20moa.

Re: Sport Optics - I'm Lovin' It!

Yep I will add in and give Sports Optics an Adda Boy also. I bought my Night Force through them as well and will buy from them again.

Re: Sport Optics - I'm Lovin' It!

Just wanted to say thanks. I purchased my Nightforce from you guys a few months ago. Have nothing but good things to say about it and your service. Again thanks from Hawaii.

Re: Sport Optics - I'm Lovin' It!

I just placed a order today with sport optics . I got the 5.5-22x50mm HS ZS with the MOAR ret. I was originally going to go wit the MLR mil base but really like the MOAR ret. Math is math. Mil or MOA is pretty easy. I'm a professional woodworker so working with MOA will feel more natural. Chris at sport optics hooked me up. I also got NF rings, bubble level ring and ADI. Waiting until Monday is gonna suck. I will def call Chris when I'm ready for my next purchase- spotting scope and tripod. Thanks SO.
